Solid transformer for landscape lighting
The transformer is great weather resistant option for exterior mounting for landscape lights. A couple of notes for people considering purchasing this:The spec sheet inside the door of the transformer states that the transformer can Be fully loaded (100%/300 watts) but the Amazon description warns to only load up to 70%/210watts. With LED lighting, either option should give you a plenty of lighting for a small to medium landscape design. My transformer did not come with any sort of paperwork. Maybe it was overlooked, but it should be mentioned.I do like theoption of the photocell jumper with a knockout directly adjacent to the jumper. It's on the right side and makes for an easy install. I've opted for a smart outlet to pair with my home hub so I can fine tune times, but the photocell option is a simple feature that makes a lot of sense.Lastly, when I put my voltmeter on the terminals, I got a reading lower than stated on 3 of the 4. My readings were 12v, 12v, 13v, and 14v. I did use a fluke T6-1000 which auto ranges and rounds to the nearest full value, but again just so you know what I found on my particular unit. The big question; does it work to light up my lights? Yes. It works. It transforms voltage and distributes the power as I need to get my lights working. Overall I like the unit.

Not completely waterproof!
I had this installed last fall, and it handles all my outdoor sidewalk and landscaping lights (8 12V and 10 4V). I use the photo cell with it (bought separately), and am very happy with the performance. The only thing I'm not happy about is that water (from rain or melting snow) seeps into the box, laying in a puddle inside, near the wiring. I placed a Styrofoam box over the top (which looks strange and not attractive) to keep the water out. This fix works, but I would think the box should have come with a gasket or rubber seal to keep it tightly closed and not allow water to get inside.

The picture shows both 1/2 and 3/4 inch knockouts, but the item received only has 1/2 knockouts.
I've purchased 2 of these. The first one has 1/2 and 3/4 inch knockouts on the bottom. The second one only has 1/2 inch knockouts. The picture shows both, but the one received does not.

Excellent Quality
This landscaping timer is simple to use and built like a tank. Exactly what I was looking for to replace an 18-year-old timer in my front yard. I expect this unit to perform well for many years.Others have noted that this timer is provided with no printed instructions. Neither was mine, but connection and programming are about as simple as they can get. You If you need instructions for a product like this, maybe you should just leave it up to your landscaper.

Cost more than "typical" low voltage Malibu-type Transformer/timers
Very impressive stainless steel case! Mechanical timer is very upscale with a 24 hour clock (military time) and 360 pins to set that many on-off choices. Comes with NO INSTRUCTIONS!! Takes a bit of thinking to figure out! Everything is 5 star quality.
