it changed our life: helped show me that though the person needing “turned good” or ‘fixing’ isn't the child, it is always you - however it was gentle and easily manageable to work through with this author holding my hand . It was a good read

The media could not be loaded. As a first time mom i dont know what im doing 90% of the time but this book helped me feel so much better about myself and my parenting. Im actually reading it for a second time because of how helpful it has been. I recommend this for all parents as it has definitely made me a more mindful and patient parent.

This book is amazing, it’s an approach on mindfulness in your reaction and interactions with your kids. It’s full of practices that test you every day. It’s not the kind of book you can just read all the way through at one time, you have to actually put the work in

This is an amazing book. It was hard for me to put it down. It had me in tears, recognizing the reasons for my own faults and understanding the trauma that caused them so that I can change and break the cycle of reactive parenting. I immediately noticed the difference in my communication with my children, and the way that they communicate with me. My only hope now is that I can get my husband to read this book as well.
