Nice, simple product
This is a nice, simple product. There's not a ton in the bag, but it's exactly as described. Weighing in pounds, as one reviewer suggested, is silly, since this material is so light-weight. Here's the "size" for me and how I found it to be a perfect fit:I ordered a 5' Nearly Natural Ficus and a planter, the Listo SRA16001P02 Sierra Planter, Nordic Bronze, 16-Inch Width. I placed the tree in the pot, used large bent chunks of cardboard from the box in which the tree came, then covered the cardboard with an old bath towel to provide a more level surface close to the top of the pot.One bag of this Spanish Moss was exactly enough for a nice layer of coverage around the tree in this 16" wide Pot.Note: The Moss was very "dusty" and had a chemical smell when I first removed it from its bag. Contact lens wearers and asthmatics, proceed gingerly when opening your own bags.

Exactly as pictured, solid & the cases are sturdy. I like the color assortment.
Opened the bag, put contents around the base of my ficus, it looks great.

So many uses! Great color
I purchased this to help hold moisture for my orchids. I did not realize that 1) jungles could be created out of this, 2) makes great green hair for craft projects, 3) enhances the bottom of a mantis habitat, and 4) serves as grass in a battle recreation scene for history class.Bottom line: Serves its purpose well - nice looking color, good moisture retention, and looks attractive in pots. Keep it away from children unless you want it used up. I recommend.

Serviceable, but not quite as nice as the "moss" real florists use
I used this product to cover potting medium in pots used for forcing bulbs. It's hard to pull out a handful of moss from the tangle in the package, and it sheds dust and particles. No instructions were provided. Not clear whether the material had been pre-washed or boiled; I doubt it. On the positive side, it's easy to form the strands into a pad, and it covers the soil nicely, preventing mud splashes when the plants are watered and acting as a mulch to conserve moisture.

Excellent for the price
This is well worth getting for the price. It was more then enough to cover at the bottom of a 6 ft Palm Tree with planter pot that was at least 14-16 inches in diameter. It was easy to use and made a huge difference in the appearance when used. I would get and use again.

Great Product, just as advertised
I LOVE this, will be used on all my indoor house plants, has a lovely natural color, unlike some that are tinted PInk, or red, and look unnatural! I will buy again, and again, I have a ton of plants.....Thank you for a great product : )

Lot’s of twigs, roots, dirt clods, and trash in it
I don’t know what I should expect from real spanish moss, so my complaint may have to do with my lack of knowledge about it.The spanish moss was fine, I guess, but it containd twigs, roots, dirt clods, and trash in it. I cleaned out most of the trash that would show, but not all. It filled the planter, so I guess it served it’s purpose, but I had hoped it would just contain the moss itself. I should have purchased fake spanish moss I guess.

ROOTING PROJECT
I am trying to root my fig cuttings in food containers with Spanish moss. This moss holds just the rite amount of moister. So far so good. UPDATE: (09-13-2013) This moss clings to the roots and when you pick the plant up, this kind of moss tears off the new roots. So handle with care. I changed my fig cuttings to sitting on whole peat moss. Way less clingy and holds perfect warmth and perfect moister. I recommend rooting fig tree cuttings in whole peat moss.
