Style:MERV 13 | Size:12 Pack Product Description Nordic Pure MERV 13 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filters provide exceptional filtration for both home and commercial environments. Each time air passes through a Nordic Pure pleated furnace air filter, lint, dust, pollen, bacteria, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, smoke particles, virus carriers, coughs and sneezes, smog, allergens and other contaminants are removed. MERV 13 furnace filters are comparable to HVAC filters with the rating of MPR 2200-2400 or FPR 10. While different companies use different scales to measure the air filter’s efficiency, Nordic Pure chose to follow the industry standard, MERV, as developed by ASHRAE (the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Engineers). No matter the name of the rating, the efficiency of all air filters is rated according to the same criteria as set forth by ASHRAE. Nordic Pure furnace air conditioner filters are manufactured using a heavy duty, moisture resistant beverage board frame. As with all Nordic Pure furnace air conditioner filters, the material is electrostatically charged to attract unwanted particles. The media used will not promote the growth of bacteria or mold on the air filter and is better at trapping airborne particles than fiberglass filters. Our attention to the smallest of details results in a healthier living space. For fresh, clean air in your home and office, it is important to regularly change your AC filter, especially during home improvements. We recommend changing your HVAC furnace filter every 1-3 months, depending on your unique home or office environment. People with pets or those who suffer from allergies should change their A/C air filters more often. Replacing your air filter regularly not only improves indoor air quality, it helps your HVAC unit perform more efficiently. Important Note: Almost all air condition filters have a different Actual Size (the exact dimensions) than Nominal Size (the name) printed on the air conditioning filter. It is best to measure the exact size of your A/C filter and compare it to our Actual Size to be sure your HVAC replacement filter fits! From the Manufacturer Nordic Pure's air filters are pleated and electrostatic ally charged and have a high efficiency rating. The electrostatic charge of the air filters works as a magnet and draw airborne particles to them. This helps protect your family from pollen, fine dust, tobacco and cooking smoke, airborne plant spores, bacteria and some viruses. Our non-woven synthetic filter media will not support the growth of mold or bacteria, keeping your home healthier. Air filters are ranked in a minimum efficiency rating value (MERV) system. The higher the MERV rating, the better the air filter can filter out all airborne particulates. Remember not all HVAC systems can handle the higher MERV ratings. Filters that have received a rating of MERV 7-12 are great for all HVAC systems. However, MERV ratings of 13-16 are able to remove and capture smaller particle sizes even before the air filter starts to become dirty and are recommended for newer units. We manufacture most any size disposable home air filter in 1/2-Inch 1-Inch, 2-Inch, 4-Inch, 5-Inch and 6-Inch thickness. The printed size on the side of your air filters may be the nominal size so it is best to physically measure your filters with a ruler or tape to get the EXACT measurements of your home air filters within 1/8 of an inch on the length and width. Consult your HVAC system's operating manual for information. Nordic Pure recommends that you replace your filters every 1 to 6 months. That way, our filters will help your HVAC system to continue running to its best capacity. Nordic Pure has been manufacturing air filters since 1960 at our plant in Oklahoma. We are proud to be offering a MADE IN THE USA product. For Customer Service call 800-590-0339 or visit www.nordicpure.com.

Static Pressure too high for Carrier furnace
These filters caused too high of a static pressure in my Carrier Infinity furnace. I had to return them. I usually use 3M filters which give a static pressure reading of 0.82 inches @ 1400 CFM. But the Nordic Pure filters gave a reading of 1.13 and 1.14, which would have caused damage over a period of time had I used them. I think the problem stemmed from the fact that these filters are actually very well built with more pleats than the 3M filters, which restrict the air more but probably does a little better job of filtering. The MERV rating is the same as by definition MERV means fewer dust particles and other airborne contaminants past through the filter, in this case by size. So these filters are doing a little better job of filtering the same size particles than the 3M. If you have a furnace where the static pressure is OK these filters would be a better choice than the 3M.

Disappointed - small sizing
I got these since they looked like a good deal, in terms of buying in bulk. But compared to the ones I would get at Home Depot, these filters are smaller. I have two returns in the ceiling, and both sizes do not fit snuggly. Which means they fall to the grate when the hvac is not running. I believe this means it probably does not create a good seal. Now I’m stuck with two boxes of these, an expensive mistake.

Not "undersized" for me
I find these 1 star reviews for wrong size hilarious. It states the exact size in the description so like....check? I bought a replacement filter for our new home at our local ace hardware and had to cut it because it didn't fit even though my duct measured almost 20x24. Well, these "undersized" filters slid right in like butter. Apparently not every hvac is done exactly the same so do yourself a favor and measure your opening exactly and buy a filter to that size. These filter's were cheap, came in a nice box for storing them and fit exactly into my furnace slot. What more do you want?

Can't be sure this product is as advertised
The product arrived on time and intact, but there is no good way for an ordinary customer to confirm its MERV rating. I paid more for these compared to previous purchases because this higher rating is important given the likelihood of future smokey days and our need to spend so much time at home these days. Each filter is unmarked except for size and air flow direction. I had to look hard on the outer box for any indication of the rating of the filters within and found one small sticker that stated MERV 12, but nothing else. Although a visual inspection by a lay person is probably not definitive, there is no visible difference between these filters and my previous order of MERV 8 filters, including appearance of the filter material or its light transmission properties or apparent thickness and density. I readily concede that filtering characteristics may be more subtle than this, but I'm not feeling confident in the product and will make future purchases locally (probably at greater cost) so i can avail myself of whatever expertise an in-person seller may have.In summary, this product may be what I specified, but I cannot verify it as being better than less expensive alternatives.

This product works... but may be too much...
This is a great product. It works as advertised. This is the second set I purchased. I can't do a scientific study that confirms the level of filtration, but it seems to do the trick. We have multiple animals in my household and constantly vacuum, which creates a lot of fine dust particles/dust throughout the house. These are primarily the allergens I'm trying to avoid getting through our HVAC system. This does the trick. Generally speaking this product is built well and arguably better than the high end branded ones at big-box stores and a cheaper price for the amount of filtration it has. I would recommend. That being said, you need to be mindful of the MERV rating and your home system. The higher is not necessarily better. The higher the filtration, the harder it will be on your blower motor. It may potentially over stress your system if the filtration is too much. I've have read some HVAC tech advises the least amount to avoid this issue to ensure longevity to your system. The product I purchased was rated at 13, which is on the high end of filtration for most homes. Because of this, I replace these more often than recommended. I believe the recommendation is 90 days, but I will do this as little as 60 days depending on the use.

If you have pets, its a sure bet !
People, pets you name it, you need a better filter to get all the pet dander, dust and everything else that floats in the air at your house too. Just started using them and really like them, have noticed that it has filtered more dust, dirt and dander than the other MERV that I had before, which I believe was a 7. It does not hurt the AC at all and the air flow has not slowed 1 micron that I can tell. Would recommend this completely !

Nordic MERV 10? Impossible to know for sure.
No MERV rating indicated on box or filters, unlike on seller's sales pix.I resent having to take important information on faith when we purchasers are paying more fore a higher MERV rating.

I do not know if I got what I ordered.
The product looks ok based on the thickness and number of folds. The size and directional flow is marked on the filter. There is no indication of the brand name, or the merv rating on the filter. So, I do not know if I got what I ordered. I’m not sure what sheerness is.
