The perfect latch replacement for my exterior Kwikset Lock
This was exactly what I needed. My latch in my front door wasn't opening properly and I was about to buy a new complete lockset but thought about trying to replace just the latch. It works perfectly, replacing the latch with this one saved me a lot of money since I didn't have to purchase a complete new set.Very easy to install, no problems at all.

Don't give up on it.
Once I made the latch move the unit worked great. When I first opened it the latch was stuck out. I figured I had nothing to loose, so I hit it against a wood 4x4 until it moved. It took a couple of sharp raps, but it did the trick. It perfectly replaced the original. If not for the latch issue I would have given 5 stars.

I NEVER issue a bad review, ever! I so wanted this to work . This item is supposed to be a universal fit. After 2 hours on my DEFIANT lever, I give up!! It just won't work!! At least I'm out < bucks...

Great replacement for my Kwikset latch
Dimensions were a perfect match for two of my failing Kwikset latches.The Kwikset's wouldn't retract all the way, and these do (hopefully for a long time).They feel a bit sturdier too, we'll see.
