WittnerViolin Tailpiece, Brown, 4/4 (418641)

OK, it's *not* made of wood. But it is a great tailpiece with integrated fine tuners, and it's exceptionally light weight.

Works well, but ot is not wood. It is a hard plastic.

Bought this to replace a boxwood tail piece with four metal tuners. Works and sounds great! Improved the tone of my violin. I was worried a traditional black wittner would clash with my boxwood accessories, so I was very happy with this rosewood -colored piece. It's the same light composite.

Not wood.

I use this same brand on my violins. I have a 5 strings electric with this same unit so tried it on a 5 string acoustic which worked so well I bought this brand for a 3/4 cello restoration project. All of them work wonderfully.

I had my luthier apply this tailpiece to my traveling violin (WipLstix) for ease of fine tuning. It is just the right size for this instrument.

A little disappointed that its not real wood.

excellent genuine german made quality product

After replacing my ebony tailpiece with this rather heavy (plastic - not wood) the clarity of sound on the violin was so adversely affected that I had to take it off.
