East Tester Benchtop Multimeter ET1240 4-1/2 Digit Digital Multimeter Voltage Tester

I acquired this instrument primarily to simultaneously display amplitude and frequency of audio filters that I make for my Ham Radio receivers (CW audio peaking filters centered at 700Hz). The photo clearly shows how both parameters are displayed. The ET1240's amplitude is within a few millivolts as measured by the HP 3455A voltmeter while the ET1240's frequency is within about 10 millihertz as measured by the HP 5334B counter. The ET1240's Frequency function is rated at 20 MHz. It is shown reading a 20.201 MHz signal from an RF generator. A 4-wire measurement of 1 Ohm (1%) resistor shows 1.00 Ohms while the 4-wire measurement on the HP 3455A shows 1.006 Ohm on the 1k scale. All things considered, the ET1240 is a handy and useful instrument for quick, easy measurements. The plastic enclosure is decent as is the price. The package includes a CD with a User Manual, probes which are also decent quality. The included paper User manual is marginal but useable. The User interface is NOT selectable as described in the User manual but I'm OK with the default black/green/white display. I would have selected that combination anyhow.

The questions were answered by the manufacturer (good sign). it works so far. maybe you have to see if it works just when you get it, so if it is DOA you can return it right away. not enough reviews to make a decision, but i took a chance. good value for 4/5 digit read out.
