The graceful rolled edges and curved lines of Pro-Logic 12-inch Square Grill Pan represent a new design in cast iron cookware while offering the same legendary cooking performance. Designed with sloped sides, and loop handles. Cast iron loves a campfire, a stovetop, or an oven, and can slow-cook foods without scorching. It retains heat well so you can sear meat at higher temperatures and will keep your delicious meals warm for a long time. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, theses virtually indestructible cookware should last for generations. Made of cast iron, this Skillet evenly distributes heat from the bottom through the sidewalls. Sporting a stylish black color, the cast iron Skillet looks good in most kitchens and it doubles up as an excellent source of nutritional iron. Cast Iron, like your grandmother used, still ranks as one of the best cooking utensils ever made. It gives you a nearly non-stick surface, without the possible harmful fumes generated by preheating chemically treated nonstick cookware. The American-based company, Lodge, has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century.

Great pan. One to love and take care of.
I love this pan. I know some folks are nervous about cast iron, but as long as you accept that this is not like a Teflon “non-stick” pan, but a heavy heat distributing pan with “stick reducing” qualities - if the tempering is attended to - you are guaranteed to love it. I have a 40 year old cast iron pan that is perfect after all these years of use. But I don’t want to wait that long to get it “just right”. So to speed up the process, I oil it after every use (never wash with detergent) and back it in the oven for a few hours at 350. I have done this 4 times since I bought it an it is almost as stick resistant as my 40 year old pan. Just never use detergent; never leave out wet; rub with a bit of oil after use, and bake in the oven once in a while. Perfect. And of course, never worry about rush. It just means it wasn’t dried and oiled well enough. Just wash out the rust and follow the process. It will last years more than any Teflon pan!

awesome
This Lodge cast iron grill pan is amazing! The size is great, first time I used it I cooked 1 bone-in chicken leg and thigh and a couple of chicken thighs. I could have added more meat as there was lots of room. The pan heated up evenly and gave great grill marks on the chicken. It cleaned up very easily, just used a nylon scrub brush and plenty of hot water. It stores easily in my cupboard. I totally love my new pan and plan on using it often.

Super skillet
Super Skillet, solid structure undergoing seasoning more updates to follow. Well post seasoning made some Tandoori Grilled Chicken and it turned out finger licking good. Impressed by this skillet.

Get the teflon scrapers
The product is exactly as described. A light coat of oil (can use a brush) before cooking will prevent sticking (at least for the first several uses). Waiting until food is well cooked before turning it will also help with the sticking. Would recommend getting the teflon scrapers made by the same company. The grooves in the scraper fit the grooves in the pan and allow for easy cleaning. Solid, well built product.
