I have lower back pain and I do not like to sit on cold surfaces. The cushion heats within moments and is so comfortable. I was so impressed that I bought a second one so that I do not have to bring it from room to room. Within minutes I can lower the highest setting from 3 to 2 and then from 2 to one. If I forget to turn it off it turns off automatically within an hour or so. It is very economical. At 100W it is equivalent to a light bulb. I get temporary relief from lower back ache but more importantly, not having to sit on cold surfaces, it prevents my symptoms from getting worse.

I do like this heat cushion very much, what attracted me to it was that it does have the cushion part and is not flat like the last one I bought. Having said that, the cushion means that you can only get heat from one side of the cushion (the brown part) whereas with the flat one I could use both sides. I would not say that this (expensive) one is any warmer than the one I had that cost half the price, and had I thought of it I could've perhaps put a cushion pad inside that but instead I gave it to my daughter for her period pains. I am happy with it, but I wish the electric cord didn't jut out at such a silly angle as when I'm watching TV I'm always aware of it under my elbow, and because you can only use the cushion for heat on the one side it means that I'm stuck with that arrangement. All in all a good product, but don't expect miracles. After a few uses the cushion pad is not quite so bouncy either and there is a flat ridge on one side.
