although food storage is the purpose of this set, i purchased for storing paintbrushes. the dimensions perfectly accomodate longer handled paint brushes and unlike previous containers i've used, i don't worry about the bristles bending or the (breakable) jar tipping over.the plastic is thick and can probably withstand being moved around frequently & not so gently.in short: these are perfect! two stackable (love this feature) bins, plus a smaller 6-set of stori drawer organizers has made made such a difference in being able to see all of my paintbrushes.the third bin is used in my freezer and it's also helped out in being able to visualize.

If you're like me and have control freak issues, this is the item for you! I have purchased more of them than I care to admit (though, I suppose if you count up the pictures, maybe you'll discuss an admission). They fit perfectly 3 across in my old and gross apartment fridge. They cover up the nasty leavings of previous scoundrels who came before me. The pictures attached are likely the most disorganized my fridge has ever been. Usually I, like the freak I am, put everything in mason jars all cleaned up and beautiful, but alas, I have a newborn baby and thus cannot keep up at the moment, so in organized chaos we shall live.In all seriousness though, these are a dream. They wash up in hot soapy water really well. The original 4 I purchased 3 years ago, and then decided to buy 2 more for the dairy and condiments a couple months ago. They both look about the same. With constant use and regular cleanings, they aren't scratched or cracked at all. I fill them with heavy mason jars full of fresh produce and carry it across my kitchen and never once has one cracked. I would buy these again and again!
