They work....
There's nothing spectacular or awful about these tampons but definitely one thing you should be aware of buying them. The applicator is super short...like you need to get it further in with help. Other than that they're great and do the job.

As expected
Work like they are supposed to

You won't regret switching to these
Easy to use. Good Absorbency. Only peeve about it is when opening the packaging its so LOUD. Sounds like I am unwrapping candy in the stall and announces exactly what I am doing. Maybe people don't hear it and I am over concious about it since our office restroom is a cavernous echo chamber but if I had a suggestion for the company is to make the wrapping out of something else.

Worthless applicator
Absorbs fine. String is thin, but works okay. Applicator is beyond worthless. It is the compact design type, so you need to pull out the plunger back. The plastic is flimsy and thin and the plunger back falls right out and won’t stay in place when you put it back. And the packaging is that thin plastic that clings to your skin with static electricity. Just awful.

Not sure anymore....
I don't have issues with the applicator, since I've used these before and am used to how it works. Also, I know how it's going to be when you take it out when it's kind of dry, again used to it. But my issue is something else. I used to like these a lot, but this time it seems to absorb on the string and complete saturate it before even absord on basically any of the tampon, causing worries about and string leakage even outside of the extra long and wide liners. It's unfortunate because I bought 3 boxes of L,R, AND S, at the same time. I hope they're not all like that, because that's $30 down the drain and like 90 tampons I can't use.

Not what I was looking for
I specifically searched for "natural" and "cardboard applicator" and for whatever reason they remained in a search they weren't supposed to be in, if BPA Free is the reason, that's bogus. I never use plastic for a myriad of reasons and when I got them I was ultra disappointed and decided to just used and never buy again..... then I tried to use them. The applicator is a joke. It does not snap and it's difficult to insert and if you mess it up, which is clearly easy and not on the user it leaves fluffs about. Upon reading reviews I am less and less likely relying on amazon to help me in life when I need something fast, it's just a waste at this point, a waste of everything from time to resources and fuel and products that are total junk with out any policing for quality what so ever.

They are 100% natural and not bleached
Love that they arent bleached and are 100% natural only problem is if you pull the applicator down a little to far it pops out but love them besides that more absorbent than others ive used from the drug stores.

Great but not perfect
I really like these. Used them for a while now. They get 4 stars instead of 5 because they don’t absorb as well as other brands but other brands are not cotton they are a mix of unhealthy materials and are coated with chemicals. These are not, so they are better in my book. I’m surprised anyone has trouble with the plastic applicator, I’ve never had one problem. Also, it’s true they aren’t organic but their website explains why they aren’t certified organic and in summary they basically are organic. Way better than other organic ones I’ve used that didn’t absorb at all and had cardboard or crappy applicators that I couldn’t use. One word of advice: the super strength is more like a standard “regular absorption” tampon and the regular is more like a “light” tampon.

How are they rated so highly?
I'm not sure how these have a 4.5* rating because they are quite possibly the worst I've used in the 43 years I've been having to use such things.Lovely outer packaging (recycled card is always a good thing) but inside they're wrapped in plastic - this is a personal annoyance of mine, however, I could overlook that as they were 100% cotton, and comfortable and all the other gumph I read. That they may be, IF you can get them to come out of their plastic tubing. I had 7, that's seven, where the plunger plastic slipped straight over the outside of the tampon itself thus wedging itself in the tampon holding plastic leaving me with a double thick plastic pink tube with a tampon stuck inside. I've had this happen with a tampax I used once before but expected more from these. I did try to pull the plunger out and try again, only for the same thing to happen.

Ripped apart
Like some others have said these rip apart if not fully saturated. Not fun having to try and pull bits of a tampon out of your vagina and will now have to make an appointment with a nurse to make sure there's nothing left in because I'd rather not risk getting toxic shock syndrome. I've used the this brand before and never had this issue before. Whether it was a bad batch I don't know but won't be using again.

BROKE APART, horrible, but comfortable.
These tampons are incredibly comfortable, however the absorbency is bad. A super is equivalent to a regular Tampax. In addition, these broke apart when they were inside of me. The entire cotton ripped into half. Poor quality.Edit these tampons are absolutely horrible. I tried to give them another go, one tore inside me which I had to remove with my hand and totally irritated the right side of my ‘walls’. It felt horrible, like an open wound. I couldn’t use tampons for the rest of my cycle.

Tampon can fall apart if not completely saturated!
On heavy days, I like how these absorb my flow. However, as mentioned by someone else, if these are taken out too early or your flow is not as heavy, the tampon has a tendency to fall apart as it’s being pulled out. This means that parts of the tampon are left inside - causing alarm/concern. This doesn’t happen with many of the well known brand and it was quite surprising. I would advise users to only use these tampons with a heavier flow!
