Great reel! Does not disappoint!
This is an amazing reel. I noticed the price and decided to give it a try. I went for the 3000 version.I loaded it with 15lb braid on a 6ft6in rod and took it out kayak fishing. After only a few casts I switched it for my go to rig, which is a Pflueger President on the same 6ft6in rod. The Pflueger casts a mile with 15lb braid, the KastKing was just so-so and just didn't cast as far as the Pflueger did using the same lure.I really wanted to like this reel so I decided to give it another go, but with 10lb braid to a 10lb flourocarbon leader on the same rod. What a huge difference- this thing casts soooooooo far, is super smooth, and is so quiet. It has become my main rig and has been fantastic. Even casting into the wind with a small rooster tail, this thing just flew, and with a slightly larger lure it went even further. The Pros:Wow, this reel looks really good and is super light.casts a mile, seems to love the 10lb braid. It is just so smooth. The cons:Although it didn't cast as far with the 15lb braid as my Pflueger did, it really wasn't that bad so I am going to say that I don't see any cons to this reel. The price: This was in a perfect price point and certainly didn't break the bank. I got it with a 20% off deal and you just can't beat that at all.Overall: This was such a good reel I decided to buy another one (the Spartacus II- you can read my review on that one as well) and I think I have become a KastKing fan so far. Now if the darn fish would just bite...

Great real for the money
I've been using the KastKing Zephyr Spinning Reel for a few days now and I have to say I'm impressed with its performance. The reel is lightweight yet sturdy, which makes it comfortable to hold and use for extended periods of time. The smoothness of the drag system is exceptional, allowing me to easily control the tension when reeling in fish. The spool is large enough to handle a decent amount of line, but still compact enough to not weigh the reel down. The bail system is also smooth and easy to operate. The reel is designed with a high-quality construction, featuring a corrosion-resistant graphite body and rotor, and stainless-steel bearings. This provides a high level of durability and ensures the reel will last a long time with proper care and maintenance.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the KastKing Zephyr Spinning Reel and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a reliable and well-made spinning reel. It's a great value for the price and performs well beyond its cost.

Smooth
I own a half dozen Kastking spinning reels, and this is one of their best budget offerings, right there with a Sharky for overall smoothness of operation. I can give this 1000s handle a quick spin, and it will rotate another 14-15 times on it's own. The drag is wide range and incredibly strong for a reel of this size. Lightweight and attractive, too. I have since ordered the 2000, and am considering a 3000 size for kicks and giggles.

Great value, but not as much line
This reel feels like a very solid reel and it is very smooth. Not quite the same as some Japanese brands, but a really good value for the price. I loaded it up with KastKing's 20lb braid (which doesn't seem that thick) and it didn't really take much (for a 4000). I assume this may be by design to try and keep weight down, as it is really light. Once I am able to use the reel more, I will update, but just loading it with line felt good.7/19/2021I was finally able to use the reel and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. It casts well and has an excellent feel to it. I used it in saltwater for a few days and forgot to rinse it off until a couple days later and the only sign of rust is the tip of the handle threads. I'm pretty happy with it.

Very smooth reel!
This reel not only looks good, and is light, but has one of the smoothest drag systems in this price range. I own a dozen or so spinning reels, and this Zephyr competes with any of them! Handles braided line extremely well too. May buy more!

Very nice reel
I do not like spinning reels, generally. I am very particular and these reels are winners.I mated the 1000 with an Okuma Celilo 5’6” ultralight and loaded with 4# mono, and the 2000 with am Okuma 6’6” medium weight trout rod and loaded with 6# mono. Both rigs balance well and cast like rifle shot. The anti-reverse is solid and immediate.I own several other KastKing reels and they are all keepers.Well done, KastKing!

Decent 1000 intro ultralight fishing.
Love the smoothness of the reel! First time getting a 1000 sized reel so took some time to adjust to it but once I started fine tuning it it was butter! Definitely worth the buy.

Returned item
Reel looked great and the quality of the reel was good. However the bail action was not smooth and would hang up about every fourth cast. I returned the product for this reason.
