do u need a wire to use this?
Will this amplify the voice if it is not plugged into an amp. I was hoping to be able to plug into an iTouch or laptop.

Pyle is a good purchase for those on a tight budget. Highly recommened

Tested this today. Good quality but you need to push the gain up to be heard. Sound quality is pretty good for a cheap mic. Shipping was super quick as promised.

My New Partner in Karaoke Crime!

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to my new best friend, the Pyle-Pro Microphone. Together, we're a musical dream team – like Sonny and Cher, Simon and Garfunkel, or peanut butter and jelly. This unassuming little gadget has transformed my shower singing escapades into full-fledged concerts that have my neighbors tapping their feet (and occasionally filing noise complaints). Before the Pyle-Pro, I had a string of disappointing microphone encounters. I felt like Goldilocks on the hunt for the perfect mic – some were too quiet, some too noisy, and others just downright unreliable. But when I finally laid my hands on this piece of audio wizardry, I knew I'd found my "just right."Now, when I host my legendary karaoke nights, the Pyle-Pro is the star of the show. It captures every nuance of my angelic voice (read: enthusiastic off-key belting) with stunning clarity. With this bad boy in hand, I feel like I can take on the world – or at least convince my friends that I'm a long-lost member of a famous band. The Pyle-Pro Microphone is so good; I've convinced myself that I could be the next singing sensation – or at least land a spot on a reality talent show. My cat, however, does not share my enthusiasm and often hides under the bed when I whip out my trusty Pyle-Pro. But hey, they say you can't please everyone. The build quality is no joke either. This microphone is sturdy enough to withstand my passionate, air-guitar-accompanied performances and the occasional accidental drop. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it could survive the apocalypse – and still be ready for an impromptu jam session in the aftermath. In conclusion, if you're in search of a microphone that will take your karaoke game to new heights (and potentially annoy your neighbors), look no further than the Pyle-Pro. It's a showstopper, a conversation starter, and your new partner in musical crime. So grab your Pyle-Pro, channel your inner rockstar, and let the good times roll!

$7.30 each. Wow.... these are great... BUT... a resonance problem, and two wire internals.

Well, amazon had these up for $7.30 cents with free shipping for Prime.... and I snagged a pile of them. Boy did they smell bad when they arrived. I put them in the sun in a window with a fan blowing air out on them, and washed the foam guards on the inside of the microphones out with soap. The cables they come with smell so bad, I cannot imagine having the cables in my home or workplace. I plugged them in with XLR cables into pro gear, tested them... nice tone. Very clear.... VERY intelligible. I put a Shure foam guard for SM58's on it, and it really is decent. Good for low budget conferences, karaoke, and such, maybe even voice recognition. Kind of SM58 like. But they have a serious problem: in my stax headphones (this is a semi-pro recording studio with some serious high end gear here - Stax, BURLS, AC isolation transformers, custom made tube pre-amps, custom made microphones....), I could clearly hear a metal can resonance. Any kind of sudden high frequency noise like P's and T's makes these ping like a bell in a not very pleasant way. So I opened it up and VERY carefully packed the inside of the body of one of them full of acousta-stuf Acousta-Stuf Polyfill 5 lb. Bag, basically stringing the stuff into spaghetti like strands and poking into the body with a very narrow screwdriver, packing it in there till it wouldn't take any more strands.... I was hoping the metal body was the problem, but no. It's a problem in the diaphragm chamber. Adding dampening material SEEMS to have reduced SOME of the handling noise, but it still has this very harsh tin can sound whenever anything sharp like a hard enunciated T or P hits it. If I was more adventurous, I might try to put some felt inside the chamber of the diaphragm.... but there does not seem to be an obvious way to open up the capsule.Inside, these are NOT balanced pro microphones. They have two wires going to the output jack. Basically they are two wire karaoke microphones, wired up so as to pretend to be three wire microphones.Hard to go wrong having a few of these just laying around for emergencies. Built like tanks. Don't expect to release music recorded with them with that harsh metal-can resonance in them, however.

Most impressive ! My first microphone and it's amazing....

I love how heavy duty it feels in my hand !It has a beefy feel to it and for the price...... it's amazing !Works better than I was thinking since this is my first pair of microphones and it totally blew me away how clean and crisp and loud I sound plugged into my amplifier !Totally worth it in my opinion ! Thank you again Pyle for another excellent product from your line ! 🙂

Great microphone for the Price. Five stars for effort.

This budget-friendly microphone was nothing special, but it honestly did the job better than expected. It doesn’t have that nice, heavy feel of a professional mic—it’s pretty lightweight and clearly on the lower end—but for casual use, especially for something like karaoke, it worked out great. Sound quality was decent, no weird static or dropouts, and it plugged right into our system without any issues. For the price, you really can’t complain. It’s not going to win any awards, but if you need a cheap mic that gets the job done without a bunch of bells and whistles, this one’s solid.
