Compact, easy to get to, quick check for safety
I keep it in my tool bag and grab it after locking out a circuit to make sure that I'm in the right panel. Then I use my meter to make sure that there is no transient voltage before inspecting contactors and such. It works every time. It's easy to grab from the front of my tool bag. I think the Life-Safety Value goes without saying. It's small, and solidly built. I haven't had to change a battery yet.

Simple, rugged, and reliable
Why did you pick this product vs others?:These work and anyone doing electrical work needs one. I have encountered numerous circuits I thought were deenergized only to find them live. A friend got shocked using a multimeter due to user error. As long as you turn it on first, it works with no delay or user settings.

Useful tool that is dependable
Good tool that works. Detects hot wires dependably. Not overly sensitive. Good quality but a bit pricey.

Works well for non-electricians
I have no electrical experience but decided to try to swap out a wall mounted hardwired EV charger connected to a 60 amp circuit to that was defective - and I decided to trust this device with my life.After touching the plastic tip on this device to a few cords around the house (lamp, power strip etc) and seeing the red light indicate power was detected, it seemed to be doing its job. I did the same on the insulated wires of my EV charger and saw the same light, heard the same beep. Then I shut off the breaker and retested. No light / no beep… Then I rechecked the power strip on my workbench and again saw the red light. So once I double checked that the tester was in fact working, the breaker was off and no power was detected on the EV wires, I felt confident in moving forward with the install. And I lived to tell about it! Very happy with my purchase.

Does the job easily
I purchased this to change out the smoke detectors in my house. Have done one so far and I can tell you it seems to work great. Easy to use and would purchase again.
