Description

  • World's Longest Wireless Range: Powered by LoRa technology, the long-range yet low-power system offers the industry’s longest receiving range in the market (1/4 mile). Our long-range coverage enables its use in areas challenging for most residential Wi-Fi systems, such as basements, outdoor porch/patio areas, sheds, free-standing garages, even remote outbuildings on your property.
  • Early-Warning Notifications: Receive real-time early-warning notifications in the form of smartphone banner alerts, SMS/text messages and emails, each optional and configured per your needs. Additionally, you may configure your system to activate a siren alarm and/or lights in your home.
  • Low-Power Means Longer Battery Life: Because of the low power consumption, device batteries may last 5 years or more (depending on application and device usage/activity), on standard AAA Alkaline batteries (lithium batteries not required)!
  • From Simple to Super-Smart: After setting up your notification preferences, keep it simple and let the YoLink system do the rest and monitor your home and property for you. Or, utilize available advanced automation features, including 3rd-party integration with Alexa and IFTTT, to interact with other YoLink and 3rd-party smart devices. Limited only by your imagination!
  • YoLink Hub Required but not included: YoLink Hub is the only central controller for YoLink devices, and it connects YoLink devices into the internet and the cloud. Without YoLink Hub, this sensor does not work with YoLink APP and does not support 3rd-party integration with Alexa and IFTTT . Please search B07TQLKQLJ for the hub or try our Smart Home Starter kit B07V246GCX

Neat product

Yolink products are easy to install and integrate. It a breeze. The best part is its Lo-Ra (long range) frequency. These garage door sensors are out of my wifi coverage and it works just fine.

Awesome, but a little tricky for my use case

I love the yolink products. Good pricing and excellent utility. But, if you get this garage sensor so that you can be warned if the garage door is open AFTER 9PM like I did, then you need to know a few things to make it work. Do the following.1. set Alert = "don't alert" for the garage sensor2. set Alarm strategy = "Disabled" for the garage sensorThen go to smart automation and create an automation called "garage open after 9pm" with this logic:IF "garage door sensor" = "the door is still opened" (if you don't see "still opened" option, the see above first)THEN notification to text message and/or email that "Hey idiot! Your garage door is still open"WHEN 9:00pm-9:10pmInitially, I thought it wasn't working because it do not notify me at 9pm, but it did at about 9:03pm and then again before 9:10pm. This is to avoid too many message, just 2 is sufficient. You don't want to exceed the message limit that yolink allows each month.

Works well for a garage door sensor.

I'm totally blind. I got this sensor for my garage door. The reason I got it is because it uses AAA batteries and not other type of batteries that you may not be able to find at a normal grocery store. I just got my garage door replaced and the sensor on the old door only lasted about 10 months before the battery died. So I thought I would give an different brand a go and see how it does. I plan on keeping the old sensor! But I'm not going to put it on the new door or put a new battery in it until I see how this one does.Anyway! I got this sensor. The first thing is when I got it out of the box! It is rectangular in shape. There is a button near one corner of it along with a LED that I could feel. It also feels like there is a large sticker on it. Now I felt all over it looking for the battery door and couldn't find it. So have no idea of how to get it open to change the batteries. I was hoping it wasn't like some of the other sensors that YoLink carries that you have to take apart to be able to change the batteries. But at this point, I thought oh! Let's see if it works and I worry about the batteries later. So Went into the YoLink App and remembered I had to go down to the 3rd button or so for ADD Sensor being the buttons aren't labeled for a totally blind person using Talkback screen reader for Android. Got the sensor online and configured to use the DEFAULT profile to send me a alert on my phone and Email for when the sensor thinks it is Open and Closed. Now to determine how the sensor would go on the door. The instructions on the web site isn't useful at telling a totally blind person how to do this. It says keep the arrow pointing to the right. Well being I can't feel an arrow that isn't any help. So I just held the sensor like it would be when the door was closed until the App said it was closed. Had to turn the sensor 90 degrees a few times before it said it was closed. Then I tilted the sensor like the door just opened and the sensor reported open. So basically if you put the sensor on the door with the button in the Top Right corner then it will report correctly. Now back to the battery! I was darn determined to find out how to get to them. I ended up getting out a SIM card removal tool being it has a fine point on it. Started feeling around the side of the sensor to start out. No luck. Checked to see of the whole front face plate and side came off like it does on some of the YoLink sensors. Again no luck. Remembered about the YoLink Motion sensor as far as how those batteries came out. So started feeling around the label area. Nothing at the top or the side. Oh! Look at that! There is a little groove along the bottom. Used the SIM card tool to find the very edge of it at the very bottom and pressed it up! And managed to then get the cover to pull up. At this point, I figured I would see if this had the two screw wholes that the Web said it should have. Pulled out both batteries. Yep it has two wholes for screws. You can't feel them from the back side do to the sticky tape covering them. Put the batteries back in and put the cover back on. Retested to insure I didn't break anything. Things are working.I got it setup with Alexa and my routines for when the sensor reports Open and Closed and they are working as I want. Announces that the door is open and or closed. When open, it turns off the garage light switch and ensures that the garage deadbolt for the house is locked. When closed make sure that the garage door deadbolt going into the house is locked after 5 minutes. Now just have to put it on the door and see how it works in the winter and summer. I'm concerned it may not work in the winter being my garage isn't heated and it does get below 32F and can go above 104F in the summer and the range as far as temperature of this sensor. So if it doesn't work, I'll come back and update my review. But if it works in the winter/Summer I'll leave my review as is.P.s. a few other places this sensor may work. If you have a dryer that has a door that opens downwards! This may work. If you also have a dishwasher that has a door that opens downwards again this may work. This could help some people remember that item is open so that they don't hopefully walk into it. Keep in mind if using in either one of these two cases! The heat could impact the sensor.

It just works great!

A few months of use later and this garage door sensor is the greatest. No more wondering if it’s left open. I was worried about buying one of the wireless door closers that malfunction and actually open the door unexpectedly. Not this device. It notices me on the phone if the door is open or closed. And it will notify me if it is open for a preset amount of time. Great product and works fantastic with the central hub. I feel bought many of your sensor products, keep the great products coming…..

Awesome!

Been using this setup for a few months now and its great. Super simple to install. Very responsive. Easy to add more. I have the main hub, a half dozen more door/window sensors and 3 garage sensors and a siren and they all work great. Customer service was awesome. I lost internet and when it came back on my alerts wouldnt come through. Turned out i needed to log out and back into the account and it works fine. But i emailed customer service and they got back to me in less than 10 mins. Great product and service. Recommend 100%
