Q: What are the dimensions of the knobs?

they are very small, perhaps they stick out about 1\2 inches. they are perhaps 1\4 inches across. I would caution you against buying these, as they are very poorly made.

Q: I have 10's of thousands of magic the gathering trading cards, could I use this to store them in an upright position?

I'm not sure. I think it tells the measurements of the drawers. I use mine for crystals and stones. I find the drawers hold quite a bit. There is a larger one... that has a few larger drawers. I like that one too.

Q: Do the knobs come off?

They are glued on but I was able to pop them off without damaging anything. That made it much easier to decoupage the drawers. I did have to sand the old glue off the knobs before gluing them back on.
