Exactly what I was looking for. It has the weight of steel and after a lot of usage it shines like it has never been used. I use it for a profitec 58mm portofilter.

I bought this dosing funnel because the plastic one that my Breville came with does not fit my new bottomless portafilter. I needed my husband's help to separate the two bc it got stuck (the new portafilter's 'ears' weren't straight like the stock dual spout portafilter) For awhile I had to keep both hands on the plastic funnel and the portafilter while grinding to keep them from coming apart. This new funnel is perfect. It attaches with a satisfying click and allows me to grind hands-free, and is easily removed.

I highly recommend this product. I've been making espresso at home for over 15 yrs., upgraded equipment several times (commercial grade espresso machines and grinders), use only quality, custom roasted beans and, worked continuously to improve my skills. All my machines have been Italian and have used either 53mm or 58mm portafilters. I am currently using a La Spaziale Vivaldi with 53mm. The 53mm lets you make single shots which you cannot do with a 58mm. As I have improved my results (varying pressure and flow during the extraction), the process had become tedious including work-arounds to prevent fine coffee grounds spraying around the counter during grinding, to de-clumping and leveling. This ring has simplified, quickened and made more efficient several steps. In my opinion, you can ignore the complaints about the ring sitting inside rather than outside the filter basket which prevents tamping with the ring in place. Here is the process: 1) place basket with installed ring on scale, 2) tare (zero) the scale, 3) grind desired dose into basket, 4) stir with wire de-clump/distribution tool to even grinds, 5) tap basket with ring in place, on countertop several times to settle grinds, 6) remove ring and 7) tamp. All these steps happen very quickly and easily. No more sprayed ground beans and quick de-clumping and leveling. You will enjoy using this product.

This is better than expected! Weight is good, size too. However, it won't fit my grinder with the porta filter holder in, I have to remove it in order to grind directly into the filter and hold the funnel with my other hand. For home use, I find it great.

We started making our lattes from home bc of how expensive everything is. I got this for my husband for Christmas so that we can speed the clean up process ho a little faster. This prevents the espresso grounds from getting everywhere and just makes a neater and more well rounded shot.

I gave the 58mm funnel 4 stars because it looks like a quality product. Unfortunately, I can't use it due to the dimensions being wrong. The second picture shows the innermost dimension being 58mm, but mine measures 65.5mm. All the other dimensions in the picture are accurate. The wider opening would allow the grounds to spill out when doing WDT. Maybe I got a bad one, but in the meantime, I'm returning it.

Fit's perfectly on a 51'' espresso basket, and being magnetized, stays there. You'll need a tamper at about 48mm to tamp the grounds with this still on, or, as I do, I just tap down the inside edges with my finger, then give the dosing funnel a half twist as I remove it, grounds perfectly centered and no spillage on the cup rim, and then tamp the cup with the 51mm tamper. Voilla!

Works as described. Pretty heavy and solid ring that seats firmly to portafilter. I always had grinds spill over behind my portafilter . No more wasted coffee grinds.
