Yes. Here's info from the insert that's included in the box: "Press the paper against the soil to be tested and rinse thereafter with clear water. In the presence of oil dark blue spots appear against the light blue background. In the presence of larger quantities of oil, the latter will penetrate through the paper, rendering rinsing superfluous."
