EnviroCare Generic Replacement HEPA Vacuum Filter for Eureka DCF-21 Uprights, DCF21, White

Washes much more thoroughly and with better results than the original Eureka filter, which is almost twice as expensive (when you can actually find one locally, that is!). It took me awhile to be brave enough try a "non-original" part, but I won't hesitate again. I bought two at the same time, and I found that I wash each more frequently, now that there is a spare. I just take it outside and put the garden hose to it, then leave it in the sun to dry all day. I found that the sun shining on it in the fresh air will take away all odors, even of pet hair and carpet dust, really well. Then I bring it inside at the end of that day and let it finish drying inside for a couple more days, just to be sure it's really dry before I use it again.** I didn't have any problems with the fit, as was noted by a few other reviewers; it fit tightly and had as good a seal as the original did.

I received this and thought it didn't fit................come to find out when I took out the last filter the bottom part stayed in the vacuum cleaner. It wasn't till I examined the old, gross and smelly one that I noticed the bottom was gone. Anyway, to buy it on Amazon was a great savings. Wal-Mart, Lowes and even our Vacuum store in town cost up to $19.00. I will buy all mine from Amazon. I also called the Eureka Company and they said not to wash it every time but to knock out the dust and after you wash it 4 times, replace the filter. I had been washing each time. I have 1 dog, 2 cats and 2 birds so it was dirty every time I vacuumed. Save money for the same product, which Eureka sold for almost $25.00 with shipping.

I tried it out this morning for size, but I want to clean the canister before vacuuming with this filter. This filter fits and seals well, but it is not as sturdy as the original. You need to be careful when you install so you don't tear it if it twists too far. I can see how getting it out might be a pain, but we'll see how that goes when it's time. The actual filter material seems to be as good or very close to the original. I bought 4 of these, so I will be able to update later with a fair opinion.

Fit perfectly in our Eureka, works great, or better, than the genuine part I was purchasing through Eureka. Cannot beat the price on this item! Quick shipment too-it was here within a day or two. Will definitely purchase this item again.I can't report about washing it, but when it is time to, I will give it a try. I know the genuine filter always retained a foul odor after drying, even after using different soaps and cleaners, so I gave up washing it, and just tossed it when it had its limit. This was upsetting, because that filter option was expensive! I'll give washing it a try when due. At this price, if it doesn't work out, I won't feel compelled to figure out how to make it keep on working.

Works as advertised. Its a filter for a vacuum. I purchased to replace the 2 year old filter which i had removed more times than i can count to clean. While i like being able to clean and reuse the filter really I'm not sure this is better than the old bag style vacuum that seems impossible to find. Honestly removing the filter to clean it you end up getting dirty and dirt everywhere.. so, not sure why these have become the norm over the bag style. I'm not sure if they really clean better than the old bag ones? Anyone?

These replacement filters are considerably cheaper on Amazon than in retail stores, and they work great. I've ordered and used 3 of these so far, and haven't had any problems. They click right into place and stay put until it's time to replace. They're described as "washable", but you have to consider how much your time is really worth. Mine is worth more than the price of buying a new one, so I don't wash them. Tried once, but it was a messy and disgusting. I'll continue to order these as long as I own our current vacuum.

The vacuum cleaner is old but does a great job when I use this filter with the second filter (another brand) and it is still going strong. Very easy to replace in vacuum cleaner. The filter does not allow dust to escape aroung edges-good fit.

Purchased this filter for my Eureka vacuum. I've always bought filters from Walmart, but they stopped carrying this particular size, so I checked Amazon. WOW! So much cheaper than what I was paying for one at Walmart.This filter fit my vacuum perfectly and seems to be working fine. I plan to order a few more to keep on hand, since they are so affordable.
