Sturdy and light weight

The media could not be loaded.  I like this anemometer. It is a sturdy , durable and shock absorbing item . I order this for my son’s DoF award . He has to go for exposition. It is specially records wind speed but also it is giving information about temperature, velocity and also it works as a torch . That why I like it and order this one . I am happy that it includes a bettry with it . I placed it in and it started working . I am not sure about its accuracy as I did not compare it. I am happy with my purchase. It is economical price . I like it .

Great little device works great and easy controlls.

Great little device easy-to-use controls are very easy to understand and it is great atvtesting wind speed.I've been using it to test the gust speed at my house.Works in reverse as well. Lights up and has a handy cord to hang round your neck.It also comes with a protective case to stop it getting damaged if you drop it.Construction is good. And overall I can recomend this.

Very disappointing

I thought I had found a wind gauge that was waterproof, they claimed IP67 but the unit failed after being in 10cm of water for 5 seconds. very disappointing and think they need to change their website and put a cross in the box for waterproof.

Does the trick

Useful to know the wind speed, direction and wind-chill for things like flying a drone or for sailing. This is a little lightweight and flimsy, with a rubber outer case for some protection. it is powered by a button type battery, which is included. It’s simple to set up choosing the required unit or measure – e.g. speed MPH, Km/H, m/s etc.The anemometer works has a useful backlight. It’s very sensitive, which you can test by blowing into it. The display is clear and displays the battery status too. It’s comfortable to hold but sadly doesn't include a case.a good little bit of kit

Super compact - great for drones

This anemometer is super compact and so far seems to work well. I'm finding it very useful when out and about with my drone, due to its size, as it's small enough to fit in my drone bag. I always had an issue with my previously purchased anemometer, as it was quite bulky, making it inconvenient to carry about. This little device is very easy to use, with a useful backlit display. The fan is very sensitive to even the lightest of wind, allowing it to spin up and give a reading.Overall I really like this device. Recommended.

Accurate and easy to use but doesn't feel tough

This Wintact Anemometer comes complete with a lanyard and CR 2032 button cell which you have to fit by removing the red plastic jacket and a hatch at the rear - I found the battery had to be fitted very precisely to get it to make contact. The supplied user guide is adequate but the print is very small. The device can provide wind velocity measurements (M/s, Km/h, ft/min, Knots/MPH plus Beaufort Scale) and temperature measurements ((in degrees C or F). There's also a wind chill indicator. I found the unit easy to use via its 3 rubber keys. Based on benchmarking against my weather station this device seems reasonably accurate. The LCD display is large and clear enough plus there's a backlight and auto shut off.A couple issues with the construction though. Firstly, my fan unit was loose in the device housing and had to be pushed back into place. Secondly, the outer jacket isn't a tight fit and the device looks/feels as though water ingress is a possibility despite the specification saying IP67 - the suffix 7 denoting "Protected against the effects of temporary immersion between 15cm and 1m. Duration of test 30 minutes".Overall, probably okay in a light domestic setting, but I'd be less confident in this device wilts clinging onto a cliff in Anglesey with a 60mph wind and torrential rain.

Wintact

Compact in size but packs a lot of accurate information within. This gage just required a simple case of switching on, selecting your desired mode and holding up towards the wind. The device then gets to work right away and offers you an accurate result within a matter of moments. Made from a decent manufacturer in this department to which i’ve purchased from before. Set at a very good price and packaged good.

Accurate

Accuracy is being debated on here. I tried it out the window of 2 cars. The jeep hood made it seem inaccurate but when i tried it out the window of my Honda element it seemed exactly accurate. Tried it about 10-24 mph. I like the size. Not too small for your hand. I like having the cover to protect it. Came with a long strap i can put over my neck when checking wind off the side of my sailboat. Also got it for rc airplanes.

As advertised

Without spending to much it appears to do what they advertised, I too was a bit confused to where the battery went ,Remove the red rubber protection cover to gain access to the battery 🔋.

Here's the missing instruction manual

First, it's an anemometer, appears to be a capable one. Easy enough to use once you figure out the stuff that flummoxed other reviewers (thanks to them for pointing out how to get the battery in, that might have confused me too.)First, the red thing is a skin, pull it off to get to the battery cover. Have a quarter handy to engage the battery cover, yes you can do it with finger pressure IF you have VERY strong fingers, but wow that's tight.Only two ways the battery could go in, it goes in with the writing up, towards your eyes.Replace battery cover and skin.Two-second hold of the red button turns on/off.U button means Units. This is how you toggle between God-bless-American miles per hour and all them funny foreign measurement systems. (I kid - measure how you like without shame or fear.)V/T button toggles between velocity (wind speed) and temperature.Once it's on, set the units for velocity and then toggle over to temperature and set the units for temperature.Boom, done. Now it's just "turn it on, measure wind speed, toggle to measure temperature, turn off". The settings will stick as long as the battery has juice.Last note, once on, short pushes of the red on/off button will toggle between current, Max, and average for wind speed. No history here, if you toggle over to Max it'll say "ok, from this moment forward we'll measure the wind speed, and the reading I'll give will be the max since you told me to do this". Same for average, it's "average since you told me to do that", not average of stuff that already happened prior to now.A note on a previous review re waterproofing: Not tested by me, but I imagine it is critical that the battery cover be FULLY engaged and that the skin be exactly correctly positioned to even start claiming waterproof. Unless your use case for this thing is kayaking, it shouldn't matter - an anemometer is pretty useless underwater anyway and just to look at the unit I'm pretty sure it won't die in a driving rainstorm.
