Beware
I haven't even had the chance to take the lens for a test run before running into issues, so I thought I'd leave this as a warning to anyone else who - like me - is planning to use this to build a basic DSLR/mirrorless rig for videography. This lens is built like a tank and seems reliable, but it's *short*. There's no way to use this with both follow focus and a matte box, unless you're using a very narrow follow focus unit or one that has an extension arm. (And even then, I have to wonder if there's enough room between the focus ring and the end of the lens to squeeze in a FF unit.) I'm not sure why someone would design a cine lens that's without room for these things in mind. It's a beautiful lens and solidly built, and if the reviews are correct, it provides good results for its price, but I was extremely disappointed to run into issues before ever even getting to shooting - buyer beware.

Beautiful yet unremarkable modern cine lens
This lens has the characteristics of vintage lenses (easy flaring and aberrations), along with more modern sharpness. I used it on my Sigma FP.Pros: affordable price. Robust housing. Many native mounting options available. Very good sharpness. Low T-stop.Cons: color rendition is not neutral (correctable in post), flares and aberrations give it more vintage vibes.Full disclosure: I’m a lens enthusiast and own Nikkor and Vivitar lenses which I use for video. I also own 5 of the legendary Lomo Oks 1-xx-1 Cine lenses (comparable to Zeiss and Cooke optics). Many of the vintage lenses outperform this one and give a more interesting and balanced image. In terms of image quality, the optics here are comparable to Nikkor (AI) photo lenses. All in all, a nice lens to own but I won’t be building out a full set.
