does what it promises :)
I've only just bought this but the signs are promising. It really strengthens your hips. I had very minor SPD pain in my hips (and have been so careful to do everything right recently). After putting this on, I was a lot more comfortable taking bigger steps, walking fast, etc. I'll be able to be a lot more active with this on than otherwise. (I have had much worse pain in the past - I wish I had been told to buy one of these then, I think it would have helped a lot.)The neoprene is perfectly soft, and the elastic is 2 inches wide and super strong. Neoprene and elastic can be used to set broken bones - and this 'sets' your hips in position. You wear it between the big bit at the top of your hips and where you can feel the top of the thigh bones coming out of your hips. It holds itself in place well. For completeness, here are the downsides: It is quite uncomfortable on your skin - you need to tighten it quite a lot, and it is obviously putting a lot of force on your skin. It bites in a bit when you are sitting down. Not intolerably, just enough to be annoying. Because it presses in so much, you get a different set of aches - but (fairly mild) muscular ones, as if muscles are working differently with it on. (None of these are because it's a bad design - it is only that you have something really tight wrapped round you).Edit after further use:Small is about a non-pregnant 8-10. (If you're pregnant you might want to buy a size up to allow for expansion).Usage: I tended to find I didn't like the feeling of this and would only put it on before long walks (and I'd be OK afterwards) or would use it for a few days when I felt particularly sore and wanted a bit of help mending (it did help). There seemed to be a comfortable tightness that adds a bit of support without being too restrictive.

excellent supportive belt.
I like the fact that the belt is so narrow and can be worn under clothes without showing..it does feel very supportive and i certainly feel somehow safer wearing it for a very unstable hip joint. I have worn it in bed at night too, but the whole ordeal of trying to get comfortable is a challenge and i have removed the belt in the small hours of the morning. I like the fact that it doesnt slip, is washable, adjustable and strong. the velcro doesnt slip once the belt is adjusted to the size i need. No metal.. easy to remove, very happy with it..and it is a great price too.

Well worth the money, has greatly helped my pain.
A little background information on this before getting into the review. In August 2015 I quite badly damaged my sacroiliac joint (I didn't know this at the time) whilst doing Kickboxing. I've been doing Kickboxing for 16 years now and have never had an injury like this. At the time I thought it would be something that would heal itself as I've had many torn/pulled muscles and assumed this was something similar. Fast forward to August of this year (2016) I decided to go to the Osteopath as the injury was no better on reflection from a year ago. After 2 sessions, I had mentioned to the Osteopath that I feel great the next day after being to her, but after I start running or Kickboxing again, it steps back to being in pain again like it was. That's when she suggested and recommended this belt.So onto this belt, which I have now been wearing for the past 5 weeks. Firstly I ordered this through Prime and received it next day which was is excellent. Packaged as well as it needs to be. Inside this box you will find the belt and some instructions which I suggest reading or watching the video that is linked, as I suspect many people will wear these belts too high.I ordered a small which fits me great, I am a 30 inch waist, and having measured myself for this I am around 33.5 inches around the hips.I do not wear this all day, I only wear this when I go to kickboxing (I cannot yet do any intensive leg work yet) and also when I go running (8 miles) or if I know I am going to be doing any heavy lifting or other exercise.. Before wearing the belt, I would come home especially after running to much tighter legs and would end up generally quite sore the next morning. However wearing the belt now enables me to enjoy exercising again, something I haven't been able to do for the past year. It has been a great aid and something I would definitely recommend to anyone suffering with this. I no longer experience the same pain during running or the next day which is amazing, and allows me to keep exercising. The only thing worth mentioning is watch to not over tighten which is easily done (something I have found on a few occasions) as you can start to feel a lose of circulation on your legs. This is something you need to figure out for yourself, but will come naturally as you use it.Having been back to the Osteopath after a month of using this, she has noted much less tension this time, and I myself can definitely feel a big difference in how my leg is, 100% worth the money if this is something you suffer with.

I have Hypermobility and scoliosis and this helped me
I have had scoliosis since I was a baby and have had several surgeries to fix things. I also suffer from Hypermobility associated with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I get a lot of pain at the base of my spine and at the back of my hips which is apparently sacroiliac joint pain, so I thought it would be worth trying this belt.I think it does help with the pain, but the main advantage for me is that the belt makes the base of my spine feel more stable and supported. With a spinal fusion down to L4, this is a big help as I have just two spinal discs left at the bottom of my back which are very mobile due to the hypermobility and I don't want them to wear out!I'm a UK size 8-10 and this belt fits me well. There's definitely room for it to fit a 12, too. The belt fits ok under clothes, even under skinny jeans.

Support belt
I've had my old belt for two years and it was starting to fray and the edges rolled up.I found the same again on amazon but this time the quality is different. I've been wearing the old around the house and the new one when I'm out but only after a couple of weeks it's already started to fray! This is very disappointing as its one of the most expensive ones on amazon but not worth the price tag. My original belt was prescribed by my physio on the NHS (only one can be issued) but though my new belt is the same brand it's definitely not the same quality. It is still useful as a pelvis and hip support band though - it's just unsightly as it only works properly over my clothes.
