Fundamentals at its best

Let's face it, just how exciting can tech be when one is trying learn a specific topic. Mr Finney does a great job of balancing a storyline with the technical aspects of what many believe to be a difficult implementation topic. Hats off to him for tackling it. Easy read and easy understand. When it comes to security, we need many more creative ways to understand the fundamentals and not get lost in the "shiny object" problem of new concepts. Definitely worth the read.

Spectacular

I'm an IT professional relatively new to the Zero Trust concept. This book presented a very engaging scenario that perfectly illustrates how Zero Trust plays out with the various stakeholders in a business. There is a lot of academic documentation about Zero Trust, but this book was demonstrative in a way all IT professionals can relate to. I strongly recommend this book to all IT managers and above!

A Thought-Provoking Introduction to Zero Trust

"Project Zero Trust: A Strategy for Aligning Security and Business Goals" caught my eye as a promising guide to understanding and implementing the Zero Trust model in today's increasingly digital landscape. The book offers an engaging narrative that makes the concept of Zero Trust accessible, especially to those new to the subject. Its style is unique, aiming to educate through a blend of storytelling and technical insights, which I found to be an interesting approach to learning about such a complex topic. However, it's worth noting that while the book excels in making Zero Trust approachable, it sometimes simplifies complex concepts to the point where it may leave readers wanting more depth. The transition from introducing a topic to claiming expertise might feel too abrupt for those of us accustomed to a more detailed exploration of such a nuanced field. That said, I appreciate the author's effort to demystify Zero Trust and found the book to be a valuable starting point for anyone curious about the framework. It's not without its flaws, but it certainly sparks interest and encourages further exploration of Zero Trust security principles.Overall, if you're new to Zero Trust or looking to gain a basic understanding of the concept, this book is a good jumping-off point. It invites readers to explore further and deepen their knowledge beyond its pages, which is a valuable aspect of any introductory text.

A priceless tool for leaders at all levels inside and outside of IT departments

A “must read” for anyone in a leadership role in all areas of business. George Finney does an amazing job of bringing the reader into the world of cybersecurity in a way that fits every level of technical understanding.

It's OK, kind of basic

If you are already working in ZT might want to skip this one. It's a bit like listening to a really boring version of a Dan Brown type book (or even more boring depending on your opinion of Brown). Would be good for someone just starting to try to understand ZT.

The Unicorn Project for Zero Trust

As a fan of The Goal and The Unicorn Project, I very much enjoyed Project Zero Trust. The story was believable and offered real insights and practices and not just theoretical banter. The chapter takeaways are useful but you may want to skip them and come back to them after reading the book all the way through. The takeaways provide value but break up the story. Nice job by Mr. Finney.

This might be the most important and fun security book you ever have access to!

This is no ordinary cybersecurity book. It's not just a management tool, not just a security how-to, and not just a fun story with diverse characters written in a novel format. It's all of these things! And its something only George Finney could create.

Worth the buy!

There are few cyber security books that draw you in, while effectively communicating new principles and concepts. This book does that, and if you're not careful you'll find yourself trying to read it in one sitting!
