Very informative book, arrived quickly

I've had this on order since there was nothing to see but a title and a publication date, and it is everything I hoped it would be. It really is immediately now my favourite book for inspiration. I am actually rationing myself a little bit so I don't devour it all at once, but leave myself something to discover! Hans Blomquist is known for being inspired by nature in his work as a stylist - and that is still the theme here but, along with the textured neutrals of his earlier books, he now takes every colour you can imagine and uses it in his own inimitable way. Beautifully produced, there is a lot of genuinely practical inspiration here as well as gorgeous pictures. I guess you probably have to be quite creative already to be attracted to this style but if you are, then there are many simple but effective ideas. Thanks to Hans I already have a painted canvas as a headboard, lots of branches in big glass jars, old pieces of furniture painted dark .... And the courage to actually USE some of my hoarded textiles! Now I can hope that he might approve of my yellow sitting room.

A really beautiful book full of great ideas for any kind of house, the pictures are inspirational. Bought it for a friend but would have loved to keep it!

Bought this as a gift for my mum, she really loved it. There isn't too much writing in this book so if you're after a really detailed read it might not be the best but for someone like me who mainly enjoys learning from photographs, this book is perfect, lots of lovely things to look at inside and it also looks wonderful on a shelf. Good quality printing and is a well enjoyed gift.

Ok book however felt the photos etc. where all very similar.

At first glance, I did not care for the lack of diversity of style which is earthy, distressed and rustic. However, this book is growing on me. Each time I pick it up, it offers a new way of seeing and feeling a color and inventive ways to use color in the home (or wherever, really). So, yes, I do recommend this book for any color lover and/or imaginatively visual person looking for some inspiration.
