We thought this was a great item, however it broke right away !The bamboo grate split.

I received a cracked bamboo board, but the item still functions. The large split is thankfully under one of the support beams of the board that seats it in the base.Water maintains in the base pretty securely and it covers enough for the warming liquid for my teapot. Just wished that the quality control was a bit more stringent.

Perfect for tea so there are no spills.
