GREAT Dog Food
This is wonderful food, and would recommend it to anyone with a dog needing to lose weight, with a sensitive stomach, or allergies. I had my toy poodle on Iams for 7 years. I never did research on dog food, the breeder I bought her from had started her on Iams, so I continued on it. She steadily put on weight over the years, & I switched to Iams Weight Control. After continuing to gain weight, and just generally have no energy at all, I thought it's time for a drastic change. At this point, I did A LOT of research on dry dog food. I wish I had done this years ago! I came to find out, that a lot of the well know brands, do not have quality ingredients. After lots of research, I decided the Wellness Core Reduced Fat Grain Free was our best option. She's been on it now for 5 months, and has went from nearly 8.5 lbs to just barely over 7, and still counting. She seems to feel so much better. AND...she loves the food too!

My dog hates anything healthy but unfortunately for her, she's allergic to grains. She normally refuses to eat her food until late in the evening because grain free dog food just isn't that great tasting, or at least I'm assuming by my dog's reaction to it. She recently gained weight from being on Prednisone for an extended amount of time so I wanted to find a diet food that worked with her allergies. I took a chance Wellness Core Natural Reduced Fat Grain Free and it has definitely paid off. She loves her food now. I always felt bad that when she ate her old food it was just because she was really hungry and there was nothing else to eat. But now she enjoys eating. I know that sounds weird since I'm trying to get her to lose weight but I'm watching her portions and now I no longer feel like a terrible owner when I give her her food.

This food is super for the dog that has a low fat dietary restriction. It must taste exceptionally good because my picky eater actually LIKES it. Best part is that the low fat content has met the needs of her digestive system. The only thing I could ask for would be a slightly smaller size on the kibble so smaller senior dogs could chew it better but a little warm water to moisten it works very well plus adding the water & mashing the softened food makes a light sauce that evidently tastes very good. She is happy & getting healthy, so I am happy. After many years of fighting allergies & diet problems, we have finally found a food that meets her dietary needs AND her approval.

If they will not eat it...
I suspect this dog food is very good but neither of my two dogs will eat it. I tried to transition them from another reduced calorie (but not grain free) food but they refused to eat this kibble. They would actually sort through the bowl take the pieces of this food out and put them on the floor and then eat everything else. This is the first dog food of any type that they have refused to eat. I was keen to get them on a grain free diet so I tried Natures Variety Instinct Healthy Weight and they loved it.I can't tell if they don't like the taste, smell or texture of this kibble. It is very hard and a strange shape that might be uncomfortable in the mouth.Reviews are very good for this food and the ingredients look fine but if the dogs will not eat it - not a bit of it - then it is no good to me.
