ChefX Wireless MeatStick - Smart 4 Sensor Bluetooth Meat Thermometer for Grilling & Smoking, 650ft+ Range

I loved the "full sized" Meatsick 4 for smoking larger pieces of meat such as brisket, ribs, boston butt, etc. The Chef X is an upgrade over the original "mini sized" Meatstick for several reasons. It not only got 3 internal sensors which seemed gimmicky to me until I tried it (there's tons of variation in temperature across the meat as it cooks, and it is very helpful to see temperature data across the entire length of the stick) but is also features an external ambient temperature sensor. It is truly just a shrunken down version of the Meatstick 4 which is perfect for smaller cuts that would be too small for the full-sized Meatstick. The battery life takes a hit due to shrinking the size down but it is still a very respectable 7 hours. I personally have never seen mine indicate anything less than 100% but I have only used it for relatively short cooks like steak, fish, and chicken.I use both sticks any time I'm preparing meat to help prevent overcooking while also feeling 100% confident that I won't be giving anyone food poisoning. I use the Meatstick 4 almost exclusively outside on the smoker and anything I can cook on the stovetop or the oven I find the Chef X is just the perfect size. The app can be a little confusing at times, but after a few sessions I got the hang of it. They also are constantly updating the app and I think it has become more user friendly and reliable in just the past couple of months.Overall, I love The Meatstick Chef X, it's a great addition to the thermometers I already have and it's a useful tool that constantly provides feedback on how my cook is going.

In this review I am comparing the original MeatStick MiniX to the new MeatStick Chef X. The difference is big. The original MeatStick MiniX which I still use today is great, but they went ahead and made it that much better. With MeatStick Chef X you get 4 zones like the larger MeatStick 4X as compared to the MiniX which just has 1 zone or just a plain temperature reading.I pan fried 2 thick New York Strip steaks side by side and used the MiniX in one and the Chef X in the other. Both steaks came out awesome, but it is nice to be able to see exactly what is going on inside your cook. The Chef X will show you the temperature along the way from the center to the outside of your protein with great accuracy.I took some pictures along the way and labeled the MiniX and the Chef X so you can see the differences. I like that I can monitor my cook from a great distance of 650ft away if needed with the built in Xtender.Like its predecessor it is very easy to use. I click a button to turn it on, open the app and set up the cook, insert the MeatStick and monitor away! Setting up the cook is very easy on the app. They have many different types to choose from or you can simply hit Quick Start and set your target and alert temperatures.I like the fact that this is wireless, and you can use it in the oven, fryolator, grill, smoker etc. With 18+ hours of battery life which is more than enough for even smoking overnight!I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to take the guesswork out of cooking! One less thing to worry about.

Just made out first meal tonight with ChefX, the small size makes a huge difference in being able to cook multiple different types of meat. The app is also well designed walking a first time user through every step in the process.

If you like gadgets this might be the right product for you. This wireless thermometer is very advanced and provides you a wide range of details to monitor your cooking.I received the product very quickly after ordering. It arrives without batteries (so make sure you have some at home available). You also need to charge the device for at least four hours before using, which isn't a problem.I thought the app usage was a bit inconvenient. You need to create an account, they require A LOT of data, then you also need to leave your location services enables 'always', so that experience wasn't great.The temperature seems to be very accurate. I didn't do the tests others did with analog thermometers, but I trusted the process and the meat was at the point expected.Overall this is a great product and I reccomend it. Would love if the app gets updated and less complex.

I already own the Meatstick 4 and love it, so I decided to try out the Meatstick Chef because of its smaller size profile.The first cook I compared both probes to see how well they were calibrated by placing one in each side of a whole Chicken. To my amazement the app connected to an extender which ended up being the charger for the Meatstick Chef X (I had no idea). Both probes connected to the extender allowing for additional range even though the Meatstick 4 I own isn't the extended model. The chicken turned out great and both probes were very close to the same temperature throughout the cook.The next cook I wanted to try something a little out of the norm. My wife makes an amazing home aid lasagna, and she will make enough to freeze in batches so we can pop them in the oven for an easy dinner. When cooking from frozen we are always guessing when to pull it since each batch has slight variations in cook time. The app does not have an option for lasagna specifically, but I was able to do a 'Quick Cook' in the app and set my temp to 165 and off I went. When it came out it was at a perfect 165 according to my instant read thermometer and I didn't have to do anything except wait for the Meatstick app to notify me.I have tried other brands of wireless probes and Meatstick by far ticks all the boxes for me. The Meatstick Chef X is great for smaller cooks because of its size and I am happy to have it in my arsenal.If you are considering wireless thermometers try Meatstick. You won't be disappointed.

The Meatstick Chef X is an amazing wireless thermometer probe.This one is a lot smaller than the Meatstick 4X allowing it to fit in a smaller size of meat or poultry while keeping the same precision as the bigger model.Its quad-sensor ability is really useful since it gives you a better idea of the temperature at multiple points. So you don't have to worry about pushing the probe too far or at a bad angle. The external sensor is perfect to monitor the temperature of your barbecue or oven and you can set an alert if it goes too low. Super useful for charcoal barbecue, where temperature is usually harder to control.The Meatstick app is very easy to use and can accommodate multiple meatsticks at the same time making it easy to monitor multiple things cooking at the same time. It is very customizable with specific target internal or external temperature, alert temperature and alert sound. Just make sure to update the firmware of the probe and extender before your first cook by connecting them to the app.The extender range is solid, when barbecuing, I can go in the house and even in the basement without it disconnecting from the app.I have absolutely nothing negative to say against it, it's the best thermometer I could have hoped for.

I never particularly liked chicken breast. Whenever I tried it felt like a sole. My first attempt using TheMeatStick was in a chicken breast. Unbelievable outcome! Juice and crunchy, it was the first time in my life that chicken breast tasted better than chicken legs! Believe it or not having a bluetooth thermometer (no matter how expensive might be) is a life changer to the way you perceive food. Since then we tried it in meat and fish with outstanding results! Over and over! I never would have imagined that following rules in internal temperature would affect this much the food. Buy it, no second thought!!!

Appen som man behöver ladda ner var enkel och gjorde det väldigt enkelt att komma igång med termometern.Själva "fodralet" kommer med magnet i bak så man kan fästa den på kylskåpet exempelvis.I appen var det enkelt att följa temperaturen på köttet och även se kurvor på temperaturökningen. Dessutom anges en ungefärlig tid när köttet är klart vilket är behändigt när andra tillbehör ska förberedas. Det enda negativa jag upplevt är när man tappar kontakten med termometern (exempelvis om man går hemifrån) så tappar man historiken sen man satte in köttet.Väldigt nöjd och rekommenderar köp
