Beats Sabrent classic hands down for speed with Apple M1
This is a very compact, smart and easy to use enclosure - very nicely packaged in a sturdy magnet-seal box.Press the button on the socket end of the case and the card cover slides off.The card is simply inserted into the connecting socket and then angled down to click into the plastic holder. I used a small screwdriver to ease the plastic clip away slightly, so as not to put any undue pressure on the card. The cover then slides back and clicks satisfyingly in place.Heat dissipation seems to be fine despite the lack of any heat transfer pad between the card and the casing. The 2 supplied cables work very well and it's great to have a separate cable for USB connection and USBC connection at the computer end, rather than a single cable with an awkward 3 to C adapter hanging off it.I bought this for my MacMini M1 (2020) and it works flawlessly with my Samsung 980 1TB card.I did try a Sabrent classic enclosure, but that is a poor performer compared to this much cheaper Rshtech enclosure. I also tried both enclosures with a WD Blue SN550 1TB card and got similar results - see the speed screenshots I have made when connected to the same thunderbolt port on the back of the MacMini M1.I haven't experienced any dropped connections or speed drop offs with this enclosure and it's a great way to extend the storage of the MacMini. I use my computer as a DAW largely, and this enclosure has shown no problems handling disc access for quite demanding audio tasks.Recommended!

Easy to use
So much easier to use for backing up large volumes of photos and compact too. You need to use USB 3.0 or better otherwise transfer will be very slow but it works really well. I have two now.

Very Nice Build Quality, Awkward Retention Mechanism - Worth Considering!
What I like -• Relatively Low Cost - When compared with the alternative options• Mostly Metal Construction - It has a internal plastic frame which allows it to be electrically isolated from the outer casing• Tool-Free Functionality - Requires nothing other than the casing itself to install or remove a SSD• Comes with a nice set of cables• Looks very professional - Suitable for Work, University, School, or, General Home usage• Sturdy Retention mechanism - No need to worry about the drive coming loose or the unit coming apart• Has a singular Blue LED on the casing release button which let's you know what the drive is doing and if it has power or notWhat I don't like -• The Tool-Less Retention Mechanism for the SSD - It encroaches on the SSD PCB and on some SSD brands this could mean you're at risk of damaging components on the SSD's PCB resulting in it failing to work & thus potential loss of data.• Internal Plastic Frame - I really wish that this was some kind of fibre reinforced board or some kind of high strength Aluminium Alloy like 6061 or 7068 and used rubber inserts to separate the SSD & M.2 PCB from the frame for isolation requirements• The Blue LED on the casing release button is VERY faint - It is really difficult to see in rooms which are naturally brightConclusion -Despite it's flaws and drawbacks I would buy this again, the build quality of this product is fantastic as December 2023 when I got mine, and it seems to be VERY robust & sturdy in it's construction. The drive is seen by the computer as a "USB-Attached-SCSI Drive" and it uses a Realtek Micro Controller. All of the above information is correct as of December 2023, I cannot comment on the quality of this product past this date if any major manufacturing changes take place which may create differences in the product that you receive when compared with what I received.

Easy peasy
When my old desktop computer failed, I was a bit concerned that I had lost some files on the SSD used as drive C. Not expecting too much, I ordered this to see if I could salvage them. The most difficult thing I encountered was finding out how to remove the m2 SSD from the old motherboard. I discovered it only needed one screw to be loosened so I extracted the SSD and pushed it into the enclosure which took it perfectly with a satisfying click as it snapped into place.Connected the enclosure to my new pc which immediately recognised it and displayed all the files on the SSD. Job done at a very reasonable price, well worth the money to access the files.I know I should have had backups in the cloud but that is another story.

Impressive Device
I was after an enclosure as I needed to wipe several M.2 drives, after purchasing a few others that did not work I asked the question to the supplier if the device was compatible with Lenovo SSS0L25089 & Toshiba THNSN5256GPU7. The response I received was more or less in the product description. After confirming all my SSDs are PCIe, I purchased the product. Received the unit within 24 hours of purchase and began testing immediately.First impressions was that the box it came in is extremely very well packaged, installing the M.2 drive was very simple. As I was using Windows 10 I had to initialise the drive via Disk Management, was not able to delete partitions so used DiskPart to perform this.Formatted the drive and began testing, I have a relatively old PC and tested transfer rates using normal USB port, with all my other external drives I get an average of 140mb per second transfer, with this device I was getting 275mb per second. I was happy with this full well knowing the USB port on my PC is not USB 3.1.On a Laptop with USB 3.1/USB C I copied 8.4GB from the device to the Laptop, I got an average of 765mb per second and the total time was just under 8 seconds, I hardly had time to take notes, copying 8.4GB back to the drive was slower and took 16 seconds, even so, I am very happy with the unit.I can confirm the device is compatible with M.2 SSDs, that are PCIe x4, AHCI, NVMe M Key. I highly recommend this device, excellent value for money.
