Quality, attractive, inexpensive.
Looked at a number of alternatives and settled for something "Made in Germany". It is well built (as you would expect) and quite attractive. Does it's job well. Smaller than I imagined but that does not affect its use in any way. Plenty loud enough with my electronic keyboard.

Nice mechanical sound
I had a Wittner pyramid metronome when I was young. I got rid of it when I switched to an electric piano with a build in metronome. My daughter learns the violin and I tried a phone app and a electronic metronome with her. The phone is too quiet and she could not hear the metronome while playing the violin. She can’t follow the app flashing the beat on her music stand either. The electronic one was loud but had a high pitched beep that sounded like an alarm. It annoyed both my daughter and I very much. I read many reviews on Amazon and all the electronic metronome have reviews complaining about the high pitch beep (and many people don’t appear to mind that either). So I decided to pay more and get a mechanical Wittner metronome like I had a long time ago. This is much smaller than my old one and had a nice red colour. It has that lovely mechanical sound and loud enough to practice the violin with. My daughter is very happy with it.

Lovely…
This is a fantastic metronome have it sitting on my clavinova. Something nice about using a traditional mechanical device these days…

Maintenance needed
I've had this for four years now and found that it began to slow to a stop and not keep time even though it was wound. This was very disappointing as it's a great metronome with a good sound and not cheap. I was about to bin it when my husband took it apart (easily done) and cleaned and oiled the mechanism. Good as new! Might be useful to know for other owners.

It's improved my piano playing.
This metronome is far better than the electronic one that I used previously. The tempo is easy to set and is loud enough to hear even with my slight hearing impairment. Excellent quality too.

The best.
I think this is my fourth or fifth Taktell. Gave one away, lost one, and one is in Africa, but whatever, Taktells are made in Germany, expensive and absolutely gorgeous. Don't buy anything else.

You can't beat it at this price
A lovely little thing which does the job.March over to Amazon and buy one now! It's easy to use and doesn't feel cheap or plasticky--though it is plastic (a neat trick haha.)

No problems so far
It is small but just as good as the larger one I had previously. Not much else to say about a metronome.

Nice quality metronome to raise another music level
It is a good quality product with reasonable price. If you or your kids want to improve higher music level, please consider buying one or similar product. It helps a lot.

Surprisingly high cool factor
It's a metronome. It does one thing and it does it well. What has surprised me most about it has been how intrigued my younger students are with this mechanical metronome versus the electronic ones. They find its whole prehistoric retro mechanical wind up vibe to be fascinating and engage with it much more positively than they do with electronic metronomes. They view it as some sort of neolithic relic to be marvelled at, and consequently they pay attention to it more intently than phone or tablet app versions. Who knew that a simple wind up metronome - the constant companion of my music school days - is now suddenly cool? I'm all for anything that gets students to more intently listen to their own playing and this does that surprisingly effectively. It is a permanent fixture in my teaching studio and I use it for nearly every lesson at some point.
