This fixture is what I was looking for to use on my carport. The most important thing for me was it keeps bugs out. I haven't had it long enough to speak to its rust resistance so with that important factor still unknown I only gave it four stars. If it doesn't rust it will be a five star product.There are a couple of things to note. First, the metal bracket they include to attach to the junction box and hang the fixture from did not work for me. The junction box I have is one of those eight sided bakelite things. The metal bracket will attach just fine, but the holes for the bolts that go through it and attach the fixture are too close to the bolts that attach to the junction box to be usable. I just drilled two holes through the fixture back and used wood screws to attach the fixture to the plywood ceiling. That made instillation a breeze.Second, you can't use light bulbs much over five inches in length. I had ordered some high lumen LED Edison bulbs and they were longer than your standard bulb and the fixture glass won't fit over them. As it turned out the clear glass eliminated the need for the high lumen bulbs and lower lumen Edison LEDs worked just fine.

I was surprised when this light arrived that the globe was PLASTIC. Description clearly states it is glass. While some people may find the lighter product an advantage, I did not order a plastic light fixture. Two stars for the nice look and a solid base but I am returning.

I got this for my entry hallway. It is a very nice light - simple, clean lines, modern look. The black base has a satin finish and the glass is a mix of clear & frosted. From certain angles, the frosted parts almost look like they have a feathering in them, but it's ever so slight, that you can only see it if you're really looking for it (you can kind of see it in 1 of my pics). It comes with all the essentials for installation and installing it went as expected. I really like that it takes a variety of standard bulb types & you aren't stuck with some kind of specialty bulb base that you may not always have on hand. Since you can see the actual bulbs from certain angles, I chose LED bulbs that were a bit more "decorative" but they may be a tad bright for the area, so I will swap them out for something with a lower wattage at some point. If this light fits your style, I don't think you can go wrong with this one, and I feel the price point is spot on.

Garbage light fixture made as cheaply as possible. Cheap gold spray paint finish along with a glass shade thinner than paper that will break as soon as you thread on the nut to secure it. Don't be like me, save your time & money & buy something else.
