Great lock - even better price
OK for the price alone (£11.99), I wasn't expecting very much at all. However expectations vs reality can differ and in this case it has and in leaps and bounds too. This is a duel option bike lock, using either the 4 digit combination or a key to open, ideal if you have forgotten your code or if the weather is really cold and you want to keep your fingers warm.I'm no lock picking expert but gave it a go using the most popular methods found on YouTube. Honestly I could not do it and further more I could not feel, see or hear any difference when I turning the dials. Thief's tend to be opportunists and will always go for the easiest option available, locks serve as a deterrent as well as securing your goods. Personally I would always lock my bike in cleat view of the public, I would lock the bike to a secure object like a lamp post, I would also use a second lock as a further deterrent.I really like the lock, I really like the price and I would definitely recommend it.

Good lock with two ways to lock the chain.
The Ryaco chain lock is light enough though and flexible enough to go in your rucksack or wrap it around your bike stem. Its pretty sturdy, there is some plastic to the metal combination, which will always be a weak spot. But internally its steel, so should prove a good deterrant. The actual combination aspect of it is fairly simple and easy to reset, or use a key if you wish. it is a not standard key, you get two in the box and they are not bad quaility. Keep one as a spare. The locking mechanism needs to be aligned before you change it from the default, just make sure you dont do what I did, i set the lock below the password level (where the line is). I thought at first the lock had failed to work correctly, but it was my fault. There is a clear line where the combination needs to be when you reset it. Luckily it was the right combination, just in the wrong place. The cover of the lock is fairly sturdy and should give it good protection from the rain too. Its a nice replacement lock, it wont deter the most ardent of thieves (with chainsaws and power tools), but it will give them a run for their money.NOTE: The key will NOT allow combination entry, or allow you to reset it with the key!Pros: Combination, key entry, sturdy steel, thick but light, flexible chain.Cons: plastic locking system is the weak point vs metal, wont deter a chainsaw.

Strong bike chain
Very strong bike chain with a nice lock to go with it, would be a good deterrent too as it’s thick and looks bulky, feels high quality and is much cheaper than the other options i have seen.

Think before you order
I do like this lock, particularly as it gives me dual options for locking and unlocking, but there is no way I would ever consider using it as my only lock, anyone with half a mind would be away with your bike in seconds. So why 5 stars? As I said before I like the design, plus I am not using it as a bike lock, rather I use this to secure my full face helmet to a security loop under the seat of my motorcycle giving me added reassurance, it is perfect for this and the reason I ordered, so for my use case it scores top marks.

Bike Lock
I think this is a good option for pedal bikes, and the around town journies. I've used the twisted cable ones before but they can be quite long to carry around and sometimes have a life of their own, they can also be hard to wrap around the bike so you don't have to keep it in your bag. I've only ever had the massive loop ones, so those are the challenges I've had. And of course when they are so large and you lock your bike, it can be hard to get the cable threaded right so that your bike doesn't fall over while still locked. The bike I ride is a high st, suit anyone type of bike, that was 'expensive' to me, but cheap when compared to some bicycles. That way I'm happy to leave it around town. I think this is a decent lock for the price point, it coils up easily. I think this lock would withstand opportunists, but I think the link size would mean tools would have to be brought for the job. I think any lock needs to last as long as it takes you to get back to your bike. And personally, I leave my bike for 30 mins and then move it to the next set of shops. And I don't park in the same place daily.I wouldn't use this for a motocycle overnight, or for storage, and I wouldn't call it heavy duty for motor cycles.

Can easily open
This product isn't fit for purpose, I asked my partner to set a combination I wouldn't know and within one minute I guessed it through the combo pad. It's easy to unlock using basic methods you can see online. I won't mention them but it's not secure at all. Absolutely useless!

Strong ..durable…excellent bike chain
Being a woman I know nothing about how good a lock chain is….but I know this one is heavy…and in my opinion that’s good….You can use the four number combination to unlock…or there are two keys and you can unlock that way….This also comes with two clips to attach to your bag or bike…The combination numbers turn very smoothly….A good deterrent for bike safety to stop bike getting stolen….Would recommend

Good for bicycles
This bike lock has quite a unique function, in that it can be used with a key or a 4 digit combination. This is ideal for my son to use, as I don’t entirely trust him not to lose the key, so he has the back up option of using the code! The lock has a premium look and feel, with a durable nylon cover which offers protection to the bike frame. It’s a good length - my son is able to lock the frame and also his quick release front wheel to the bike rack. The lock is quite heavy, but not a noticeable weight if wrapped around the bike while transporting, rather than putting it in a bag.The lock doesn’t feel the sturdiest. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it for a motorbike, but it is great for a bicycle.

Solid chain lock with combination or key access, nice length
This combination/key chain lock is the perfect size for my bike. It's a bit heavy, but I'm a casual mountain bike and hybrid bike rider so I'm not worried about the weight. The materials are hefty and feel solid, and the lock seems decently constructed. The fabric covering was more rugged than I expected. Overall it looks good and feels tough - and that's important. No lock will keep your bike from being stolen; deterrence and inconvenience are the keys to making thieves leave your ride alone. This lock will do that as well as most on the market.I reprogrammed the combination which was easy following the included instructions. I checked the key function, which releases the lock on one side (see photos). I locked it and checked the combination, which releases the lock from the other side. Everything worked easily and the chain wrapped nicely around the top tube.See the photos to get an idea of the dimensions and how the lock works.

Secure Flexibility
This bike chain lock offers a solid mix of security and convenience. The 4-digit combination is easy to set and offers a good range of possible codes, which helps keep your ride safe. The additional feature of having two keys and a carabiner is a nice touch; it’s great to have options for unlocking the chain, especially if you prefer not to use the combination all the time. The 3.2-foot length is ideal for securing my electric scooter to various objects without feeling overly cumbersome. The heavy-duty construction feels reassuringly sturdy and should deter casual thieves. However, the lock does take up a bit of space when coiled up, which might be a consideration if you’re trying to travel light. One minor drawback is that the carabiner can be a bit finicky to use, especially if you’re in a hurry. But overall, this lock provides reliable security with the added convenience of dual unlocking methods. It’s a practical choice for keeping your scooter safe and sound.

1.5lb chain lock for my kid's bike.
Not as strong as a Kryptonite or Abus bicycle lock but it's fine for casual use to "keep honest people honest." 1.5lbs is not too heavy of a chain for a kid to use. 4-digit number is easy to remember. And the fabric wrap protects the paint on the frame. My son rode his old bicycle around the area which is mostly safe, and to be honest, no one in their right mind would steal a beat up, no-name, hand me down, 1-speed bicycle. But now that he's getting bigger, we upgraded him to a $400 mountain bike. He LOVES the new bike. Now we worry that it might get stolen if left outside the store or at the park. This RYACO chain lock is mid-level. It's nowhere near the security level of an Abus or Kryptonite lock. It's just enough to act as a deterent for someone looking to grab the bike when it's unattended.Lastly, I appreciate the manual key for emergency unlocking if/when my kid forgets the combo.

Solid chain lock
This is a hefty chain lock. Things I like about this lock:* Fabric sheath which doesn't mark the bike frame* Fabric also resists blades to an extent* Easy to set 4 digit combination lock* Back up key, just in caseThe length is good to wrap my bike with the common bike stands around the city.Recommend
