My 11 lb Chinese Crested Powderpuff was fed Purina ProPlan since she was a puppy. I switched her to this Health Protection recipe when it first released. I wanted to switch her food now that she is getting older (6 and a half). She had no complications with switching her food and the transition. The bite size kibble is perfect for her. She also has issues with her anal glands, that I have to express them every 2-3 week (I am a vet tech). Since she started on this recipe, her last expression was 4 weeks ago.

This kibble is basically the Whole Foods of dog cuisine. My tiny fur goblin used to be a picky eater who acted like kibble was beneath her. Now? She trots to her bowl like it’s Thanksgiving dinner.It smells shockingly decent (not like “what died in the bag” vibes) and doesn’t turn her into a gassy menace. The pumpkin and brown rice combo? Chef’s kiss for her sensitive stomach—and my sanity.Bonus: her coat is shinier, her poops are majestic little logs of digestive success, and she struts around like she just signed a modeling contract for Tiny Dogs Monthly.If your small pup deserves big love in a bowl, this stuff delivers. She’d give it five stars herself if she had thumbs.

Natural Balance Health Protection Small Breed Dry Dog Food – Chicken, Brown Rice & Pumpkin - 4lbs.
My two smaller dogs seem to like this and eat it without hesitation. It has good ingredient list that I feel comfortable feeding to my dogs, and I'm picky about what goes into their bodies. Their stools were well formed and they had no digestive upset from eating this.

Contrary to what the majority of reviewers are saying, my dogs did not want to eat this. This formula wasnt appetizing for either of my small dogs. I have a maltese and a small chihuaha. The chihuahua will eat anything, but she didnt really find this dry food appealing. Neither wanted to chow this down.While the formula might be good or decent quality, it doesnt mean that all dogs will like eating it, especially if theyre picky eaters.

Our dog seemed to like this dog food
Our dog seemed to enjoy this. He acted very excited when he got a whiff of the new dog food. He seemed to happily eat it. And most importantly, it did not seem to upset his sometimes sensitive tummy. The kibble size was small - very ideal for the targeted small dog size. I thought that it would have been a nice touch if the bag had been resealable, but this doesn't directly disappoint my impression of the dog food overall.

Phoebe is a 9.5 pound, picky-eater Cairn Terrier. She seems to love variety and always enjoys a change in her food. We hadn't tried Natural Balance before but so far so good. The small kibbles are nice for her to eat but that may create problems as she tires of the flavor in a week or so. After she gets bored with a food she wants to make eating more fun and insists on "hunting her food." This means I have to toss each kibble across the floor before she'll eat it. These small Natural Balance kibbles are going to take forever to deal out. I'm sure I'm spoiling her but it does provide some entertainment at mealtime. Phoebe and I appreciate the quality ingredients in this food. Pumpkin is great for digestion which Phoebe does have problems with at times.

Digestive Health Power UP For My Puppy!
This is quality dog food with an ingredient list that I appreciate. When I saw that it included pumpkin and brown rice along with chicken, I knew that those were the type of ingredients that tend to help with digestion. In fact, I used to plop a tablespoon of pureed pumpkin atop my puppy's food to help keep his tummy calm.Since we started this food I don't even have to do that anymore because it is formulated for digestive health.Smell-wise it is about like most premium dog foods we have tried. The smell doesn't make me want to eat it personally but it sure does motivate my puppy. He truly loves it and gobbles down his full bowl when I place it in front of him.Value for money seems just fine to me because of the ingredients and quality.This is formulated for small pups but I am going to search out a big dog version for my large dog because the quality is great (and since my puppy loves it that is most important of all!)
