I got the 8" full, thinking that the 6" might be "too firm". Firmness is actually what I was after, as well as a lower mattress that my old dog would be able to climb onto easily. He can easily climb onto this 8" so that's good. It is definitely firmer than my previous mattress which was a 12" hybrid mattress which was labeled "firm". I do think that I could sleep well on a 6" as well even if it was a little firmer, so I'll probably try one of those when this one wears out.This mattress was shipped apparently from the factory in South Carolina. There was no scent at all to the mattress. It seemed to take full shape within minutes of taking the packing material off, and it measured exactly 8 inches tall. I waited over 24 hours before sleeping on it just to give it time to breathe, and I heard that one of these mattresses may increase in firmness over the first few days. This mattress was much lighter than the hybrid 12" queen that it replaced, which is nice for moving and even changing sheets is easier. I have mine resting on a washable rug, so it's very low to the floor. I am hoping this allows enough "airflow" to not have any mold issues, time will tell.Granted it's only been a few days, but it's comfortable to sleep in, which I know is very subjective, but hey. I am a back sleeper but occasionally sleep on my side, and it's fine in those positions.

I love this mattress. I was a bit worried when I put it on my bed that it would be too firm, because I have chronic pain and the mattress is make or break for my body. It did seem a bit too firm last night but I didn’t wake up in any more pain than usual, and tonight it feels better. Definitely way better than my last mattress!! I let it expand / air out for 24 hours before I put it on my bed frame, and waited several more hours before I slept on it. I do have a memory foam mattress topper on it that makes it a little taller, which for aesthetic purposes my bed frame needs, but from using it with my old mattress I can definitively say that you can still feel the mattress below it, and tell if it is good or bad. Or maybe I’m just like the princess and the pea, I don’t know. Anyway, I recommend it, although I do wish it was a little less firm, just for my personal preference. That’s my fault for not knowing what the firmnesses of beds are though. I think it likely is the exact firmness it is advertised to be.

I've been sleeping on this for about a week now, and I'm happy to say that I no longer get shoulder pain. I used to have a hybrid spring / memory foam mattress, but switching to a medium firm memory foam mattress has made the difference. I used to think it was my pillows but ultimately I think it's this. It ships really curled up, but it immediately bounced to its size once laid out, which means almost no downtime. It's actually really soft if you step on it, but when you lie down (I'm about 135lbs), there isn't much sinking. Just hopefully it stays this way for years.

I had read all the discouraging reviews about 'a bed in a box' and must say I disagree. It is FABULOUS! Only took 24 hours to "inflate" and this mattress, along with a plain wood frame (also from Amazon) kept me at a combined budget of $300. And downsizing from a queen bed to a full bed was a little scary. Just fits the bedroom space better.It is nice and firm and I get what I'll call "instant sleep" at 8 PM and also have slept through the 4 AM alarm a few times in the last several days. Unlike me.So why not 5 stars? If truth be told, this is completely *my bad* - - I should have ordered this mattress or a similar one, a couple of years ago because the description doesn't do the mattress justice.

It fits perfectly on my current Queen box spring and I did purchase new Queen bedding in anticipation of deliverance of this mattress. Everything fits like a charm! No problems whatsoever and I love when I was putting on the sheets and a mattress topper, that I didn't have any issues of straining my back to lift the ends, like with my old coil mattress. I am so stoked and looking forward to many a good night's sleep because my last mattress was causing me massive back aches, neck and hip aches from it sinking and collapsing in the middle, and the sound of coils popping underneath me..

I’m honestly impressed with this mattress. It arrived quickly, was easy to unbox, and expanded fully within a few hours.The 8-inch height is just right for my bed, and the medium firm support is exactly what I was hoping for -not too hard, not too soft. The memory foam contours nicely without making me feel like I’m sinking.What really stands out is the cooling green tea gel. I was leary about trying a bed in a box, but I am very glad I did. I am 80+ but the process of opening the box, taking it out of the plastic was very easy. It took my bed about 3 hours to reach a full 8". After it reached its full height, I put on the mattress protector and then made up the bed. I slept on it last night and it was amazingly comfortable. I am very well pleased with the quality, comfort, and price. There was absolutely no odor at all.
