The concept of wireless charging in your car with automatic expanding and retracting phone-holding arms is cool. It worked well while it lasted. Unfortunately, with plastic construction, tiny gears, and a tiny motor, the question of durability is the issue. I got 4 months out of this device before the gears started making grinding noises and no longer expanded the arms. I contacted the seller to request an exchange and could not get a response. This device did not last long.BTW, after sending the seller an email with the details, they responded asking for details, stating to please contact them to resolve the issue. I responded to the email asking again for a replacement and how to contact them. They responded with the same response. it's strange and annoying. I guess they like playing games with their (prior) customers...

The charge system and grip features worked as described. I'm very pleased with the automated gripping. (more on this in a second) and I find the system is very adjustable and flexible. I have a few curved locations where it wouldn't get a secure suction mount, but there were lots of options with the gel pad suction and the vent clip. By the way, the vent clip was simpler and more convenient than any I've had in the past. About the automatic grip system: A feature request I would make is a back-up battery. I don't have an "always on" outlet available so I'm a bit inconvenienced by having to start the car BEFORE I set the phone in its holder. Likewise, my reflex is to turn off the car BEFORE I pick it up and this doesn't work either. It would be nice to operate the grip one or two times without a connected power source. ...I know that creates engineering challenges, but hey, that about the only issue I found!

Outstanding product! I bought about 6 different brands and styles to test including the magnetic ones. This one is by far the sleekest and most functional! It looks great and holds my iPhone XS very securely. Furthermore, the vent clip it comes with is the best one of all. It has dual force clip which can clamp down with two different strengths. This is better than the spring mechanism every other one had.Because it is automatic and firm, you can actually rotate your phone to landscape without fear of it falling (unlike those “gravity” gripping versions).This is the best. Don’t even look at others.In case you’re not yet convinced, it is an excellent price with real customer support.Love this charger so much I already bought a second for my wife’s car.

Item worked great, though if using maps/playing music from your iPhone, trickle charge of QI barely keeps charge from dropping, but forget charging it with those running.After 3 months the motion sensor stopped working. You could kind of wedge the phone in and the arms would pull back then adjust to fit your phone. However after a couple weeks the arms stopped working also. Now I have a Qi charger with springy arms that hold my phone but don’t nation sense or auto retract anymore. Skip this if your looking for a product that lasts longer than 3 months.

This one is the 3rd car mount I have used so far and I guess it will be the last one! Once I have installed it and connected to power I am using in every day. The instalation was easy. There are 2 ways to mount it in your car. One on the handle that comes with the mount and second is mounting it straight on ventilation hole. It can rotate 360° so I could adjust it like I want. The power piece comes with USB port and USB - C cable. This is a great feature because I use video registration and I can plug in directly to this one. The only thing that I had to do is hiding the cable so it won't disturb me. The wireless charging is fast and always works.

This 2nd generation device is the best wireless car charger I’ve purchased. The automated opening and closing of the gripper arms is convenient and fun to use. And with the tiny button positioned on the bottom right (the ad says left side), it is a simple one-handed removal operation. I am hopeful it will provide me several years of service. Note the motor for the grippers sounds tinny and cheap, but It feels like as long as I don’t abuse it, it should last.As an Apple user, here are my immediate observations. Regardless of where the charging dock is placed, there will always be the permanently-connected black cable that receives power from the car’s cigarette lighter port (there’s USB on the end of the plug). To use Apple CarPlay at the same time, however, I needed a second (Lightening) cable running between my iPhone and a USB or cigarette lighter port. Bottom line, while I am dealing with two cables to use CarPlay versus one when I am not, I still love the product.

The product worked great for the first three months then won’t charge anymore. Says it’s charging but phone battery slowly goes down. iPhone X’s maxx

It worked well for a few months. When it stopped functioning I contacted the manufacturer through Amazon and they replied immediately to my query for more info, which I gave them, and then I never heard from them again even though I sent follow up emails inquiring.Also, If the phone is charging near the key transponder, it will block the signal and your car won't start until you take the phone off the charger.
