SwissGear2762 ScanSmart Laptop Backpack, Black, 17-Inch

I've been using the SwissGear 2762 ScanSmart Laptop Backpack for several months now, and I'm very happy with it. Purchased for my husband. Being Swiss Army you know it is great quality! He loves it. Not to big or not to small. Just perfect for work.

I love this backpack. I bought it for work and I put a 15.6" laptop along with a 15.6" portable monitor and I'm still able to put a large folder in the middle compartment. There are so many pockets that fits all my needs.I was able to bring this backpack on a domestic flight as a carry on and it fit under the seat just fine. It does stick out a little more than other backpacks as it longer in height but it did not bother me.Something I was pleasantly surprised about was that it has an insulated compartment for cold drinks!I'm looking to buy another one in the near future in case they stop making these.Highly recommended for travelers and for people with laptops and a lot of additional peripherals. It's a great travel backpack as it can probably fit 2 days of clothes and a laptop with no issues.

6 months into using this backpack and the water bottle pocket is coming apart.

The backpack arrived in time in good condition. The only issue I had was that my 16.5 inch x 11.25 inch x 1 inch laptop didn't quite fit in it. I couldn't close the zipper all the way around the laptop compartment. There was a corner of the laptop hanging out, and I didn't want to stretch the fabric. I even put the laptop in the tablet sleeve as one user had suggested. The return was hassle free.

This is what I was looking for! Perfect for 14 and 15 inch laptops, has a good pouch for a tablet or note book. Many sections and small pouches for stationaries and other things. Good material and quality. I like it.

ISSUE 1: The laptop feature is that the bag can be unzipped so that it splits open and lays flat. Some airports want the laptop pulled out and I don't want the hassle of finding that out at the last minute, so I don't use this feature. Problem is that while wearing the backpack, this zipper and become undone then it flips open dumping any loose items in that section. Ask me how I know.TIP: zip up the laptop section by putting the zipper to one end or the other - do not have the two zippers meet in the middle.ISSUE 2: The front pocket is annoying to me. It zips along the flap in a U shape. This is terrible because it reduces the usable pocket space to the bottom of the U and below. Anything above that will fall out as you unzip it.This is a design flaw. Every other backpack uses a horizontal zipper or an upside down U shape. This lets you open the pocket without fear of anything falling out. It's aggravating because I like to use the front pocket, but I keep seeing the ill-advised design and wasted space every time I do.The rest of the backpack is fine. Side pockets are good, and construction is good. Will continue to be on the lookout for a decent travel backpack that I really like.Update: laptop section opened up again and my stuff fell out. Will be buying something else.

I bought this backpack to replace and old Swiss Gear backpack I had that was probably 10 years old. The older backpack was huge and heavy, but held a lot of stuff, so it was a mixed bag for work travel. With this new one, I was still able to fit all of the things I normally bring, power strip, tablet, laptop, etc. but it's half the size and half the weight. It fits easily under the aisle seat on a plane, which a lot of bags don't, and it does have the strap to put over the handle on your suitcase, so that makes it easy to move around airports. 10/10 would recommend this backpack to anyone.
