Great Device That Charges Batteries Separately
Works great. The batteries charge seperately, and once they're charged I disconnect them but leave them in their slot. There's no LEDs that are permenantly on which I also enjoy. Size and design are great.

Fast and efficient
I purchased this because I have many battery operated accent lights. This works great for that application and the batteries do not need charged very often at all. I would buy again and recommend to others

Initial capacity checks out. Will update rating based on LSD-ness and how well they hold charge
Currently, Amazon is selling charger and/or batteries in the same product listing. Makes the reviews confusing, to say the least.I bought a set of 8 EBL 2800mAh batteries.Upon receiving, I gave them a full discharge (at 350mA) followed by a full charge (at 700mA).The pictures show the resulting voltage and capacity at the end of the charge cycle, while still in the charger. As a baseline (to prove that my charger is still working correctly), I've also tested my trusty Eneloop batteries (identical conditions), which are rated at 2000mAh.I've seen reviews claiming that these are not Low Self Discharge batteries, despite the manufacturers claims that they are LSD.Less than 1 day after charging and without any use, the voltage had dropped to about 1.37V. But that's not totally unexpected, as NiMH batteries tend to do that. Their claim to fame is that they can hold 1.2V during heavy operation much longer than Alkalines.I will have a chance to test how well it holds the charge and their LSD-ness soon and will update this review accordingly.Update (Jan/09/2016):- Confirmed these are not true LSD. They discharge much quicker than the Eneloop, which are true LSD.Not sure if the manufacturer changed the description recently, but it says "Improved low self discharge makes it still maintain 75% of capacity after 3 year of non-use".Technically, they could be right. I don't have an older version to say that these are not improved. And I don't plan to leave them unused for 3 years just to test the claims, but I offer some numbers below.- I bought these batteries for their capacity. I used them in my DSLR camera, which is a power hog. I'm OK with having to charge them before each use (because I have multiple sets of batteries, if you don't you may be caught off guard by them being empty when you need them). The Eneloops didn't last an entire soccer game, most of the time. These will last the entire game, most of the time. That's an improvement, I suppose. I still have the problem that half way through, the camera displays a low battery sign, but they still work. I suppose that's a problem with my camera, even though I have this same problem with 2 different cameras.- After soccer season was over, I put these batteries on a garbage duty. I have one of those sensor activated garbage cans that opens by a hand wave. It a low power, long term application, the exact opposite of the DSLR duty. Alkalines would last 4-6 months. These last 3, at most. It's clear that they fail due to self discharge, not power use.- I recently put them in a full discharge/recharge cycle, similar to what I did when I first received them. At the end of the cycle, the average voltage (while still in the charger) was 1.46V (pretty much the same as new), but the capacity had dropped to an average of 2700 mAh.

Quality charging unit
I love that this charges batteries individually instead of in groups. Charging individually does every battery justice and I believe will add to the longevity of the batteries, as well as identifying bad batteries. Being able to charge 1 to 8 batteries at a time is great as I have a lot of gadgets that take 3 batteries and most other chargers require an even number in order to charge, very convenient. I like the USB ports (5v-2a) as well, they come in very handy charging my larger flashlights. It does not charge fast, but I believe that will extend battery life as well as getting a better and fuller charge in every battery. I really like this charger for my AA/AAA EBL batteries.

Update: little battery life, but probably unusual; company helpful and responsive
Second update: EBL was apologetic and refunded the item promptly. They have been very responsive to this issue and say our own experience is highly unusual, and it may very well be. That is the reason for the upgrade to three stars from two. B/c our experience may be extremely rare, take the following review for what you will. After returning this product (see initial review, below), EBL reached out and sent us a new one, which we really appreciated. An honest (re)review follows. One pair of AAs still powers our TV remote as of two and a half weeks. However, we tried to use the other pair, put it in the charger to see if the charger worked, and no lights came on. We put them in the remote and it failed to work. I rotated the batteries and the TV then turned on and buttons worked. Later, the remote stopped working. We replaced those AAs with the original ones we put in and it now works. So, seems like another pair of duds, sorry to say. The AAAs seem to be charged, although they had to charge about five minutes after putting them in the charger, even though I had charged them fully after receiving them two and a half weeks ago. Also, in one of the docks, the metal flange that connects to the negative side of the AAA is permanently depressed and therefore nonfunctional (though the other docks seem fine). So, unfortunately, while this review has been upgraded from a one star to two stars, we have found these batteries and charger overall disappointing.(Initial review: We purchased these based on high ratings and a review in Wirecutter. Received product, charged batteries, seemed like good quality. Two weeks ago we replaced our old remote control batteries with the fully charged EBLs, and they are already dead. I went to replace these with the other set of EBL AAs, and they were completely dead, along with the two sets of AAAs.)
