I had to buy another to one totaled in an accident.
Updated 2/2020… I purchased the Unity 2-11020-001 Front Pair and installed them myself 12/2019 and a week later someone (they were at fault) turned left while looking right and creamed my left front fender and bent the strut. Since my car is a ’01 Grand Prix and even though damage was minimal it was close to being totaled because of towing, storage & labor cost. My insurance company wanted to tow it away but the company for the one at fault was a bit more reasonable and credited me for the overall condition, low mileage and numerous new parts and, though close, it was deemed repairable which was much better than having it totaled, buying it back and doing the repairs myself and just have someone paint the parts. The repair shop had a fixed budget so they went with some used parts to save themselves a few bucks (without asking first) and when I picked up the car (2-months later and 40-miles away from where I live) I found the strut they put in was used so too late to argue. I purchased this to have a matched set once again since the used one was beat and I could feel the bumps and the car had a slight tilt to the driver’s side. in all the years I’ve done my own mechanical work (about 55-years) I’ve never thought a junk yard was a good place to get shocks/struts… but that’s just me though they did do a nice body/paint job. All’s well once again though I’m not happy I had to buy another one of these for about what I paid for the pair a few months ago but they’re good struts and I have no complaints… yet.Original review…They actually solved a minor but annoying oil leak. They actually solved a minor but annoying oil leak. I purchased the Unity Automotive 2-11020-001 Quick Complete Front Pair which is nothing more than two of these since they will either side, I’m more than happy with it and buying the set was less than buying two of these units. The decision process on what to do took longer than the installation on my ’01 Grand Prix. It was pointing down in the front (and I thought that was by design to make it a little more sporty) and even slight bumps could be felt so I knew it was time to deal with it but the options varied as much as the prices did. There are lots of struts that will fit, prices vary widely and reviews were all over the place so I compared replacing just the strut (since the springs looked good) to the complete assembly. I opted for this one based pretty much on price (the best locally was 119-bucks each) and Unity reviews for other items listed on this site. For some reason, the price for two was about the same as that for a single assembly… and the same part number 11020 will fit either side. I can’t compare these to any others but they look & feel as stout as the likely OEM ones that I pulled out and they were a perfect fit. These will likely be a bit longer than what they’re replacing so that’s what raises the car up a bit and can make installation a little more difficult if you don’t attach them to the knuckle first and then jack it up a bit to get it up into the tower to put the 3-nuts on… if you try it in reverse order getting the holes on the knuckle to line up can be a real bear. It took a fair amount of Blaster and a breaker bar to loosen things up but it was about an hour each to pull the old and install the new. I’m replacing the rear ones next before I get an alignment. I think my old struts were permanently in the down position and now that the front end has risen there’s actually something absorbing the bumps now… plus the car is easier to get into because I could lower the seat a bit and at 6’3” every little bit helps. When I was doing the comparison the strut alone was about what I paid for the complete assembly so that reduced the decision down to the best price for the complete assembly. I went the other way for the ones for the rear when I found a pair of struts for only 35-bucks and I had already checked the rear springs and they looked good and are wimpy by design so I decided not to pay 100-bucks plus for essentially little more than some clean boots and upper mount. I’m pleased with these, how they were a perfect bit and more so the significant improvement in ride and handling. The slope of the vehicle caused oil to run toward the front of the pan so the level on the dipstick was wrong which caused me to overfill and the extra oil was above a gasket meant to stop slashes and not act as a dam… so I had a very slow and annoying oil drip that was cured by getting at about the level it should be at. I’ve replaced a lot of auto parts over the years and have always found a decent price on this site, free shipping and a no-hassle return policy when I have an issue and/or something doesn’t fit… plus it’s a lot closer than the more expensive auto parts stores 40-miles away and that warranted an extra star to bump it up to 5-stars but since it’s doing what I would expect it to perhaps 4-stars is more appropriate but it really doesn’t matter since I have no complaints.

Works well
Supplied nuts stripped easily but used factory nuts and had no problems. Easy install.

No more tire cupping!
I bought these because they were a decent price compared to others. The ride is somewhat the same. I still feel the bumps along the road. They do return my 06 Impala closer to factory height and also I'm not suffering any more tire cupping issues, which is another reason I bought these.
