PERMANENT PEN - RUINS CLOTHES!
Why use a permanent pen in a product meant for toddlers? It does have a warning that it won't wash out of clothes on the back but we didn't see that and our daughter immediately ruined a brand new top. I can't believe it's not possible to find a washable wipe clean ink so my advice is don't buy this as it's just not suitable for small children.

Great book, pen could be improved
My stepson is starting school in summer and has never shown much interest in learning his letters until now so I bought this book as was only a few pounds. The book itself is great, the pictures help understand the letter and there are different ways to learn to write it. One issue is the pen, it writes well although quite faint (maybe just me) and the page wipes fully clean if a wet wipe used. However the pen itself if not washable on anything else. It does state this on the book but it's hard to tell a pre school child with a pen in their hand whilst also turning pages on a book that it dodsnt wash off skin/clothes/floor/furniture so just one thing to watch. If the pen was fully washable it would definitely me 5 stars but giving it 4 for that. Would still recommend though , just be careful with use

Great letter book but very similar to first writing
I love this book since I can rub it out after every use. My daughter is 3 and a half so thought best to start this up and also something new and fun to do. I wanted a whiteboard version which this is. This book is similar to first writing, I would say that one is better since there are some of everything. So there is a free pen with the book which has a rubber at the top of the pen. The lid doesn't go into the pen which means you have to leave it on the side makes it quite easy to lose. If the book is used make sure to wipe down straight after because it's hard to wipe later on.

Pen broke within minutes
Considering this is aimed at a pre-school age group you would think that the pen it comes with would be slightly more robust and be able to cope with a little person who uses a full hand grip. Sadly this didn't last more than an hour or so before the nip slipped into the main body of the pen shaft and we can't get it out rendering this product useless. I would have given more stars if that didn't happen.

pen and eraser work well
My 3yr old grandchild is just getting to grips with letters so this is a very handy way of giving her plenty of practice while under supervision so she writes her letters correctly. My mother was a reception class teacher and really hated children who arrived having learnt to write their letters the 'wrong' way as they had to be retaught to give a cursive flow to each letter making the transition to joined up writing eventually much easier.
