I would give this little gadget 10 ☆ if I could! It is totally amazing. We have a 90 year old house with lath and plaster walls. The studs are irregularly placed and hard to find. It only took a few minutes with this to find the studs so I could put up a shelf. The magnet is very strong.it is fun to watch the little switch click up and down as you hit the studs (really their nails). It does the job. It doesn't weigh much and is easy to carry up and down a ladder. It was well worth the money.

This was so easy to use. I have an older home with plaster walls. I wanted to secure bookshelves to the wall, and this little device immediately showed me exactly where I could anchor the screws. Got them right the first time. Low tech, easy to use, no batteries required. Highly, highly recommend!

This looked too good to be true, simple piece of material with a magnet, but what intrigued me was the price and claim it would detect through plaster lathe walls, and I have very thick plaster lathe walls, so if it didn’t work it was just like the other fancy battery ones that don’t work, or are inconsistent and only work on Sheetrock if they work, but this time I could live with the cost. So I go and try it, bam, incredible and not just detect but soundly, quick and on the money that thing popped up solidly and easy! Dont waste your money on the the expensive fancy rip offs unless of course you have plastic screws!

The product does pop up when it goes over a nail or screw pretty well. That is okay. But from the picture we thought we were getting 2. (reason for the 4 stars) That picture should be down the road with the colors. The product picture should be showing just one. (That's why the reason for value for the money) To me it's misleading. Product does work as advertised, however.

Using two different high quality electronic stud finders I got very inconsistent readings looking for studs in a walk-in tiled shower. Stud Pop found nail/screw heads fairly easily. I recommend finding three in each stud you intend to drill into and use a level to rule out any of the three which might be too far off centerline. Very simple mechanical device I will continue using to verify electronic stud finder results

I questioned if this would really work, but it does. I’ve had others that don’t work as well as this. I was pleasantly impressed.

Didn’t work! Followed the directions on my drywall and it took several passes and even more minutes to find ONE spot where the magnet strength held the stud finder to the wall. And even then, the pop mechanism didn’t engage at all. It is lightweight and small, but it was not time saving nor a quick way to find a stud. I’m really disappointed but I’ve missed the return window.Update: The company reached out to me and graciously offered a refund even though I had missed Amazon’s return window. They did not request or imply that I should edit my review, but I am doing so anyway. I appreciate a company that stands by its products. Further, in rewatching the video, I noticed that the product I received is missing the bottom plastic piece shown in the video. Could be why it didn’t move across the wall smoothly. I may have received a defective unit. I can’t say for sure.

I needed to hang a curtain rod, but I hate making unnecessary holes in my walls. I wanted first time accuracy. I almost bought an expensive electric stud finder; my problem is that my home is almost 90 years old and I think the walls are sheet rock and plaster. I did some research and decided to do an old-fashioned magnetic stud finder. The beauty is I didn't need a battery and when I tell you this product stuck to the wall unaided when it came in contact with metal. I followed the instructions and hung my curtain rod on the studs the first try. No unsightly holes. I would recommend the StudPop for anyone needing to hang an item. Even if you use it with one that finds electrical wires this is an excellent addition to your toolbox.
