Possibly, but put it into a sleeve of soft material to prevent abrasion

It should. I used to add structure to a strapless sweetheart bodice that I made.

Q: Will this work to make a frame for a bear costume covered in 3' faux fur?...is it rigid enough to support the shape?

Yes I think so. It does come in different widths. You can also use two rows for stability.

Q: Would this work for keeping my shorts from riding up on my inner thighs?

I’m going to try to use this for my shorts by placing it between the seam on the inside of my shorts, seeing it to the seam then covering with iron on patches to help it from being abrasive. I hope it works. Wearing shape wear/shorter gym shorts under my shorts helps too.
