I love this device which connects my Windows 10 tower computer and my Windows 7 tower computer to my 24" VGA monitor... and when I press the button to switch from my Windows 10 computer over to my Windows 7 computer, my Windows 10 USB keyboard and USB mouse BOTH also work on my Windows 7 computer!!!So with this device I was able to clear up LOTS of desk space by eliminating my other 23" monitor and my Windows 7 USB keyboard & USB mouse!!!NOTE: I was a little skeptical about purchasing this device after reading some negative reviews (some reviewers said it caused computer screen resolution issues and visible lines on their monitor screen/some said it is too difficult to set up because the included instructions are not very clear/some said the device doesn't work at all/one reviewer was disappointed because he said you must have BOTH computers turned on in order for this device to work properly).I wanted to make it clear that when you have this device properly hooked up I was able to use just ONE of my two computers WITHOUT having to have my second computer turned on also, which is a nice option if you don't always need to use both computers during the same time period and switch back and forth with this device... I had NO screen resolution issues and NO vertical lines on my screen after hooking up the device (on my Windows 7 computer the screen resolution setting remained the same, but I did have to re-adjust my Windows 10 computer screen resolution back to my default 1920x1080 setting).So to sum up my review I would say setting up this device on my 2 computers was pretty straight forward using the two included VGA video cables and I watched one of the videos shown on their Amazon page where I ordered this device from (the brief instructions that come in the package are NOT very helpful so you will probably need to refer to their video installation guide on their Amazon order page which shows in color where to hook up the 2 included VGA cables to this device and where to hook up your keyboard and mouse!)...To complete the setup you will need to use ONE of your own video VGA cables to run from this device to the monitor that you want to use, and then you just connect your USB keyboard & USB mouse from one of your computers to this device and you are ready to use both of your computers that are now connected to only 1 monitor!!!Tim H

I purchased two of them and they work as advertised. They switch two computers keyboard and mouse plus two USB speakers using one VGA monitor.I'm having a problem with one old computer failing to switch the VGA port. It is not the switch because I swapped it and it works fine on the other pair. I'll either figure it out or recycle that computer and use a different one.

This is a good unit for the bucks... I did receive the first one which was actually defective. It was an easy return and and replacement. So I give the seller A+++. They unit functions well. I liked the fact that the usb cable is built right into the long cable. I have another one in my music studio and had to run separate cables for usb and more tangle, more mess. So this was a definite plus... WHEN READY TO INSTALL: Make sure and watch the included clips for easier installation. The only thing that was a disappointment is that there is no plug-in for sound and so because my computers are older, I had to choose which one that I wanted to dedicate the sound and plug the speakers directly. I do understand that everything is going blue tooth and this is probably why the manufacturer cut corners. For the price, it's worth it.I CAME BACK AND ADDED 1 MORE PARAGRAPH AFTER USING FOR A MONTH. I took away 1 star and for this reason: My other unit that I use downstairs in my music studio has an input for SOUND as well. It provides sound between BOTH COMPUTERS with this function. After using this one, I had to put a manual switch (another gadget to be hooked up and in the way!) so I could switch sound between computers. So I am taking 1 star away... If you need sound between computers to your speakers, buy the upgraded one with the little orange/aqua blue 1/8 inch inputs included on the unit.

I’d give it a zero if I could. Came to me and immediately noticed a loose part inside the switch, it rattles around. No light, no power switch, no working unit. Why does Amazon still carry this item when it is returned so often? It is a POS that should be removed from the market.

I used this to connect two computers, running Windows 98 and Windows XP, to the same monitor. Wasn't sure if it would have issues, given that they are both outdated OS's, but have had no issues. It comes with two VGA cords to connect your computers to this device, both of which have a USB attachment that allows you to use the respective keyboard/mouse, so you'll just need to have your own separate VGA cord (the blue cord in the picture) to attach this device to your monitor. If you need to share a monitor between two computers, this is the way to go!

Just what I needed...

This switch arrived quickly in a retail box. I first tried a different switch that cost 3x a much and I couldn't get it to work at all. I have one old VGA monitor and an older WIN10 HP PC and a brand new WIN11 HP PC. I wanted to be able to view both PCs on the one monitor as I transfer files from the old PC to the new PC. This switch allows me to have both PCs on and plugged in to the switch as well as using one keyboard and mouse to control both PCs. I just had to make all connections before powering up either PC and then turn them on. At first it did not work, but I had connected only the VGA end of the cables to the PCs and not the USB plugs that are tied in to the same end as the VGA connectors. So I then plugged in the USB plugs on the back of both PCs and instantly was able to view the one on the monitor. I then clicked the switch and saw the other PC on the monitor. I then rebooted each PC as they were fully plugged in just to ensure that I was getting the best picture from each PC. Once they rebooted I was able to switch between PCs by clicking the button and the pictures were perfect. Awesome switch and well worth the $17.
