Makes old shone like new.

I purchased a 2000 ski boat that had been neglected and used this compound to bring it back to life.i must say this stuff works better than anything else I have ever used. My 2000 boat now shines like a new one. So happy with the performance of this compound and even more happy with my purchase. I used a buffer for application at slow spped then increased speed once applied. Removed compound by hand with a micro fiber towel. Price is excellent as well compared to some other brands.

Best product to cut the oxidation !!!

We hesitated about 4 months on which product to use on our 49 ft fifth wheel. I am super excited to say it really does the job. We started with a kit and needed more oxidation. It pulled out the scratches and it is easy to remove. Must see the difference

Good Stuff. Not One Step.

Have used Meguire's products for decades. Worth the extra price.Bought this to restore fiberglass cap and siding on our RV. Applied with orbital buffer on the really weathered portion of the front. By hand on the sides and back.It does clean and restore. Definitely must use a liberal amount as you apply. For really worn finishes it may take 2-3 times of buffing and additional product.Final wipe with clean cotton towel will bring out the gloss finish. And it looks really good. Why not 5 stars?? Two things.1. Benefit is short-lived. But then, nobody makes a restorer/cleaner/wax that lasts very long. Duration of the shine can be enhanced by applying Meguiar's 56 afterward. Which leads me to my second item.2. It's called One Step, but the recommendation is to apply the #56 formula afterwards. See the rear label photo with the directions.I would recommend and buy again. But understand if its a large project like an RV front that has a very dull finish, it's going to take some effort. And if you want it to last long, wash it every 6 months and reapply the #56. The good thing is, if you maintain it like that, it's easier to wipe on and buff off.God Bless your efforts. :-)

Worked like magic!

I bought a a fiberglass boat that was nearly twenty years old. The fiberglass was in reasonable shape but had medium to heavy oxidization and deep scratches consistent with its age. I tried many things to bring back the shine, including a slew of automotive products and the 3M Marine Compound that many people rave about but none of these products worked for me at all. I was particularly disappointed wit the 3M product as it seemed to do nothing at all and was expensive! By contrast the Meguiar's worked like a miracle and the boat came up like new with just one buff. I guess every situation is different but I am really impressed with how this stuff worked for me.My only caution would be that this product seems to work with a combination of a chemical solvent and mild abrasive. The colored areas of the gelcoat caused the buffing pad to change to that color very quickly suggesting that a LOT of surface material is being removed. I am no expert but I suspect it works by softening the gelcoat with the solvent then removing the softened layer with the abrasives. Given that, in my option this product should be used for that one major compounding where you want to bring an old boat back like new. I would be very careful using this product regularly or on a new boat where only a light buff / wax is needed. If anyone is interested, here is the exact process and tools that worked so well for me:1. I used a Dewalt DWP849 7/9" buffer set to 3,000 RPM2. Fitted the polisher with a flexible backing plate and a Gracefur Hook and Loop 100% Wool Polishing Bonnet3. Washed and dried the boat to remove surface grit, dirt and old wax4. Spread a generous amount of the Maguiars evenly over a two square ft region at a time using a microfiber cloth. I found it worked best to use a lot of compound i.e. A layer of material about 1/16 thick on the surface5. Polished with an overlapping elliptical action until the compound was mostly gone and just a faint haze remained. I used a medium pressure - enough to bend the backing pad a little but not enough to stall the machine. I found it worked best if you use the edge of the pad (i.e. at an angle to the surface) as opposed to laying it flat on the surface6. Wiped the haze off with a clean microfiber cloth7. Marveled at the result!!If your gelcoat is colored the buffing pad will change color quickly, so use a separate pad for each color region to prevent color transfer. For deep scratches and gouges I put large amount of compound (1/8 thick) specifically on that area and worked it in harder than other areas. When the job was complete I used Meguiar's Premium Wax to seal the surface. I used a 10" random orbit polisher for the wax and this took out any swirls left by the more aggressive compound. The wax also added even greater luster and color depth but I have not tested the longevity of the wax in the water yet.One 32oz bottle of compound did a 24' cuddy cabin boat above and below the waterline.

Great product

I know it isn't specifically for that but I used it on my 30-year-old fiberglass shower and it made It Shine Like New Again. I wish I had taken "before" pictures but I didn't know it was going to make that much difference.

Rubbing compound works great, polish not so much

I bought an older boat which had some oxidation and blemishes all over the bull, walls, and floor. This will cut through the oxidation pretty quickly and a lot of the scratches/stains I thought were permanent came out as well. From that standpoint, I am really satisfied. But, this is advertised as a one-step product that will polish and add gloss. That it doesn't do that so well. I'm left with a haze even after buffing not only with a cloth, but wool wheel on my power buffer. It needs a wax or other polish to go on after. If it was only a rubbing compound, I'd be thrilled, but when I thought I was going to be able to skip a step and only do one pass on the boat, I was a little disappointed.
