Affordable, natural, effective, YES
This product does everything you want it to do, and for a fraction of the cost of everything else that doesn't work nearly as well. First of all, it doesn't damage my hair but actually protects it. It has no weird fragrances or colors. The hold is natural and leaves my defined ringlets looking bouncy and shiny. When people compliment my hair, which is all the time since it grew out SO CURLY after chemo, I tell them about this particular product. I use the praying hands technique for distributing it through my hair and I air dry it/dry it in front of a space heater (which is a drying method I highly recommend, especially for squirmy kids who can do other things while they sit near a space heater and let their thick, curly hair dry in the winter time.

It's better than what most stores sell
The hold is good, last about 12 hours without starting to fade. Doesn't flake, or give me a itchy scalp. I actually really enjoyed the smell of it, better then the normal hair gel IMO. It's clear so no weird dyes or shimmer. Before I add to my hair I take a tiny bit of purified water and wet my hair and scalp, then add the product that way it doesn't set as fast and you have more time to style it. It's tough to find anything that's not extremely toxic for styling hair.. give yourself breaks on your weekend, wash it out nightly and use like a castor oil or jojoba oil when your not using this product. If your looking for a more natural gel, try making your own with coconut oil and a few other ingredients. Tutorials are online. This works great for special events, job interviews and nights out. 🙂

Nontoxic ingredients, but semi-compromised functionality
I love that this gel features nontoxic ingredients. It does work well for slick hairstyles or putting in wet hair. Unfortunately it can make hair feel a bit tacky and frizzy. It is easy to use, and it is not too heavy on hair.. just does not form my curls as well as other products I have tried. It smells very light and fresh and it has lasted me longer than i expected.

Excellent for fine curls
I have tried so many products from drug store to salon. This is a great product. Just the right hold. No crunch, even w/ air drying. Not drying. Keeps frizz under control. Smells light and fresh and washes out easily.

Non flaky and hard hold!
This product works so well. I was using Avedas flax seed gel confixor and it just wouldn’t hold. This is maximum strong hold and has 0 flaking It’s great esp for the value!Edit: this product contains phenoxyethanol which is terrible for you. I will not be buying again.

No more allergic dermatitis. Strong-hold gel that lasts for hours. Very impressed!
It seems like all of my allergies are getting worse as I get older. I've been using the same gels from Kenra (17-firm) and Paul Mitchell (Red - strong hold and Purple- extra body) forever. But, I've been getting patches of blistery skin around my eyes which don't tend to appear when I don't use gel. So, I figured I'd try something with fewer chemicals. The culprit was suggested to be Triethanolamine - found in all 3 gels mentioned above. This is not in Jason's product. I'm not a chemist, but the most active ingredient in Jason seems to be Methacryloyl Ethyl Betaine/Acrylates Copolymer, which is listed as a "hair fixing" agent of low/no toxicity & no allergies (you can google it and it comes up in many cosmetic databases), unlike Triethanolamine which is only a pH adjusting agent but may cause allergic reactions.I have not had any dermatitis issues in the 1-month since I have started using this gel. The gel performs very well, especially considering it's extremely affordable price and natural formula. My hair type is medium-to-thin thickness and chemically straightened (barely - we leave it on 5 minutes just to make styling easier). The gel is sticky like Sebastian Gel Forte, which is the only negative - but whatever. I just wash my hands anyway. It controls frizz well. It holds stronger than Paul Mitchell firm (red bottle) and Kenra-17. This may be too strong for some people, but it depends on your hair type and preference.I can sometimes be bothered by scents quite badly (my hair stylist once used some pomade on me that required a shower, washing my sofa cushion, and washing out my nose to get rid of). That situation was unusual - but it gives you an idea how much I hate certain scents. Jason is nothing like that. It's pretty neutral. It sort of has a fruity & lightly floral smell...almost grape-like? It's so hard to explain but it is mild to me.It's totally worth a try, especially given the reasonable price.

FINALLY
I like to stick my hair down for work cause I hate my bangs getting in the way of things (bartender) and this gel holds all night sometimes even after a crazy night's sleep if I forget to wash it out, I can even just brush it out and there's no flakes and it doesn't feel hard or crusty and dry feels dehydrated like I don't even have to wash my hair to get it out! Smells nice and natural isn't too sticky on hands. Great styling gel!
