SCHLAGE Z-Wave Connect Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt with Built-In Alarm, Satin Nickel, BE469 CAM 619, Works with Alexa via SmartThings, Wink or Iris

I bought this deadbolt to make it easier for my family to get in the house without the hassles of keys. I have not hooked it up to Zlink yet but I do plan to, This was easy for this mom to install. The directions were clear and easy to read. The only tool i needed was a screwdriver and it took me a total time of 20 minutes to take out the old dead bolt and install the new one. The programming for this deadbolt was superfast and easy. I just input the provided code and installed my new code. The touchpad is simple to use and my boys have already caught on to how to use it. My favorite feature of this lock is that it has auto lock it locks the door automatically. Now I was carrying in groceries and did forget about this feature and it did lock me out, but it was easy enough to just press in the code and get right back in. There is an alarm feature on this door as well which can be set. The drawback to that is you get to pick 1 out of 3 options 1 you can have the door beep when it is opened, 2 you can have a loud long sound play when the door lock is being messed with or 3 a loud long tone will play when your home is being broken into. Also you can adjust the sensitivity. I do wish there was an option to have all 3 working at once though. I still think it is great though and totally worth the money and peace of mind. I love the fact that it matched my already installed handle bronze handle. There are 3 colors to choose from at this point. It us also nice to have keyed entry just in case you have battery failure. I am still curious to know if we are going to be running through a lot of batteries since I have it on the auto lock function. This deadbolt is great all and all and I will update later about the battery usage and stability of this innovative keypad entry deadbolt.UPDATE 9/30/2015 I am absolutely loving this keyless entry. It is so helpful in alerting me when someone has entered the home with a beep. And for the kids it is great no more lost keys. Also I would like to add that the batteries are still going strong and I have not had to replace them yet. The deadbolt locks itself after entry and that alone has been a wonderful addition to our home security.UPDATE 3/13/2015 The original batteries are still going strong. I absolutely love this product and I am highly satisfied with the quality and the performance of this lock. I would say 100 times over this is one of the best investments I have made. I love this product it is such a great investment. Especially if you have children because it auto locks once they have came in the door. This is an amazing product!!!!

Normally I'm at my house everyday when the kids arrive home from school. For those rare occasions that I am not, my oldest daughter has a key to get in, which works fine when she can remember to take it with her to school. So less than two weeks into this school year, I get a call from her saying that she has forgotten her key again. It was at that point that I decided I needed a way to ensure that she could always get into the house.After looking through some of the available deadbolts, the Schlage Camelot had good reviews, it has a grade 1 rating, it came in aged bronze, and had an attractive looking control panel so I decided to give it a chance. The lock is well packaged and includes an installation guide as well as a user's guide. Both guides are well written and easy to understand. The lockset was pretty much a straight swap for my existing deadbolt but, be aware that the strikeplate required for the lock to meet the grade 1 rating is larger than a standard deadbolt strikeplate and you will likely need to open up the strikeplate recess in the frame in order to accommodate it. When I initially installed the deadbolt, it was later in the day and, as a result, I had to install it with the regular strikeplate until I could go back and modify the frame.Also, the bolt needs to extend about a full inch into the door frame when locked so if your house is done like most contractors do, you may need to also deepen the bolt recess. Once it was installed in the door and I installed the batteries, it briefly runs a calibration routine. After that you can add or remove codes easily. The lock works perfectly and it did not take but 2 tries for my daughter to be able to understand how to open it with ease. I like that codes are easily to change and the guide does a good job of explaining how to enable/disable all of the lock options. Since I already have a door chime from our security system, I did not activate any of the deadbolt's alarm entry features so I cannot speak for how well they do or do not function. As others have mentioned, the auto-lock mechanism is a bit loud but I actually like the positive feedback of knowing that it is locking the door. It also provides a beep confirming that the deadbolt was properly extended and has a different sound to let you know when the deadbolt is blocked from extending properly. I like that the touchpad is not lighted until you press the Schlage button first so it doesn't stick out that I have an electronic lock from the road. The touchpad works great and requires little pressure to activate. When lighted, the numbers are easy to see in daylight or dark and inputting the entry code is very easy. Overall this deadbolt provided exactly what I need in an attractive design that matched my existing handle so I am very pleased with it.
