View From Above: An Astronaut Photographs the World Hardcover – October 3, 2017

I purchased this book used but it arrived in near-perfect condition, only one corner of the cover slightly wrinkled. The insides, however, are perfect, and Terry Virt's pictures are simply breathtaking. Even after seeing thousands of photos from space, these are some of the most beautiful I've seen. Highly recommend!

If only we all could see what author and photographer-astronaut Terry Virts has seen, with his own eyes and 'vision', we might appreciate our life-giving and precious planet much more. We all need to get more proactive, like many astronauts that return from space with a new mission: to help preserve and protect our tiny 'pale blue dot' - as Carl Sagan once called Earth. If you or anyone you care about loves space, science, adventure, and our Mother Earth - then grab a copy of this wonderfully illustrated and hopeful book soon!

Capt Terry Virts writes beautifully about his 200 days on the ISS and in his time there he took 300,000 photos so the photos are amazing. I also listen to his two sleep stories on Calm where he reads selections from the book which is what prompted me to buy it. Anyone who is fascinated by space, the world, and our place in it will enjoy the book which is beautifully done. Thank you Terry for sharing your enthusiasm and experience. The book is a true gift to all of us!

I got this to give as a gift, so have not read it all; just skimmed it. But it is packed with pics. Many of the pics are of the ISS and crew; lots are awesome ones of the earth from afar. The writing is interesting and easy to read. This is a unique book that is more than worth the price.

I purchased this book and absolutely love it. I'd recommend it to everyone! It's a well written book for the entire family. The photos are magnificent and enjoyed seeing photos of all aspects of Commander Virts' life in space from liftoff to landing. Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful photos of the Space Station. I hope he does another book and would love to see Astronaut Terry Virts write a children's book also. I purchased more books for gifts.

This book is everything. I heard a podcast and that initiated this purchase. It was worth every penny, beautiful story, and the photos, the photos are exquisite. The story amazing.Definitely worth it.

Cmdr. Virts did a great job telling his story with great photos and an easy to read writing style. His choices for photos was good. It would have been nice to have it on higher quality paper but the price would be higher but you still get the sense you were there. It must have been hard to choose from all those pictures. Well worth the money!
