Great for Seniors!
When I see my dad, Richard, I always talk about the peaks and pits of his week to ensure I'm addressing all his needs while he enjoys living his independent life, and it's truly uplifting to see him thriving. For the most part, I have to give credit to Amazon Alexa for being dad's assistant in the house and helping him when he needs help, which is a testament to the power of technology in enhancing our lives. He enjoys talking to Alexa about music he likes to listen to and even operates his lights in his apartment, which is a remarkable example of how innovation can simplify our daily lives. He likes the fact that he can drop in on me and I can drop in on him (video chat), no matter how far the distance, and we are always there for each other, which is a beautiful reminder of the importance of human connection. Recently, during dad's visit, he had a concern, and it was very valid. He said, what if I ask Alexa for help and they call the EMT or the fire department, whatever the case is, but wonder if they can't get in, do they break down the door? For an 81-year-old man, this man is very smart and logical, so I told dad that's a great question, and to address his concerns, we will think about getting a smart lock for his apartment. This way, when he can't get to the door to unlock it for whatever reason, he can ask Alexa, and furthermore, Alexa Assist agents will have an access code so they can let the emergency responders know what the code is. Dad's very happy and we instal it this Saturday, and it's heartwarming to see him feeling safer and more empowered. Technology truly has the power to transform our lives and bring people closer together.

Great balance of budget and tech in a great product
Great budget lock! We have had a touchpad Quikset deadbolt for many years that finally gave out. I think 10+ years of my boys yanking on it was finally enough. It thought it was locked when it was unlocked and vice versa. It had a good run. Thank you for your service.I shopped around a bit and wanted something secure but simple, high tech but affordable...and this Eufy seemed to fit the bill. We used to have an automatic vacuum from Eufy and it worked like a champ. So I had some brand familiarity and comfort with Eufy. This was a super easy install. It doesn't come with a full instruction manual so you have to scan a QR code to get to it. No biggy. It was all super intuitive and everything worked as stated. I did have to chisel out the recess where the deadbolt itself sits in the side of the door. But that was no biggy. Five minutes with a hammer and chisel after making a new outline with a pencil.Wifi integration was a snap through the app and so far everything is great. I've got it integrated with my google home and it seems to be running perfectly. Thanks Eufy for another great product!

Great price! Uses standard batteries and yes you can get extra keys cut.
I love this lock. I was hesitant at first because I had read you couldn’t get a key cut for them due to it being the length of a kwikset on a Schlage blank. Due it this I hadn’t previously purchased a eufy lock that worked with my existing deadbolt and a separate keypad. This used non standard are batteries and they would drain quickly. The lock actually would not let me unlock the door from the inside when they had died which was a huge safety hazard. I took a chance on this and it paid off. It installed quickly and looks nice. I took the keys to my local hardware store and had them cut on a Schlage blank. It worked just fine, however due to the length disparity you just have to not fully inserting it the key. If you leave just a few millimeters gap it will unlock perfectly. You could also get around this by slightly filing the key, but I find this to easier. I just wouldn’t go to a place like Home Depot where a machine cuts the key instead of an actual person.

Take note of a couple things when buying this product.
Okay so far a good deadbolt but here are some things to know. When putting batteries into the deadbolt make sure they are 1.5 volt not 1.2. I also did some further digging and I think you can't get rechargeable batteries for the deadbolt, however, if my research is correct you cannot use the NIMH. You have to use rechargeable lithium which are a little bit more spendy. There are rechargeable lithium batteries on Amazon that are over 4000 MW hours. I have yet to try it with the rechargeable batteries, but I do have a working. Here's a second thing that you must be aware of. According to the on-screen directions when calibrating it says basically to clothes and lock the door. However, this may lead to the lock being unable to calibrate. Make sure there are no obstructions and that the path for the deadbolt itself is clear. If everything is clear and set right and it still does not calibrate, open the door and lock the deadbolt and then calibrate. This trick work for me as I was having problems calibrating even with proper batteries. Last thing is if you are planning on using this with Alexa, note that you'll be using your Alexa 4 digit pan to lock and unlock the door and on the keypad will be the code that you set in the app for the deadbolt.

Nice and works as well or better than more expensive options
This is a good basic lock that works well with Alexa. I’d dock it half a point since it doesn’t work with HomeKit which is inconvenient but it works so much more reliably than the much more expensive August it replaced I can forgive it. It’s also far nicer looking and the keypad built into it is convenient as a backup to the app.

Solid Device, exactly as described
Replacement for a competitor device. Better quality here and easy to install setup etc. Took 10 minutes to get up and running. So far the battery is still strong and hopeful it will stay that way. Simple integration with Alexa without the need for a hub. I would reccomend and will get another for the front door.
