I decided to purchase this scale because it had 4.9 stars from a good sample size of buyers.Accuracy:Let's start here because it doesn't matter how many features a scale has if it isn't accurate. I have an old, inexpensive scale that just gave me my weight. I checked it at my doctor's office so I know it was accurate. This scale is within 1/10th of a pound so I know it's accurate as well. While I know the weight is accurate, I haven't used the scale enough to be sure of the other measurements. But it did seem to get my BMI right.Setup:Good news. You can weigh yourself to make sure the scale works for you before you commit to downloading the app and creating an account. When setting up the app, you have the option of turning off notifications and you can select whether you want to share the information with your health app. I had trouble with the bluetooth pairing initially but when I actually followed the directions, it worked fine. If your scale says "Bye" just start over. You'll get it on the second time. At one point in the app setup, you can select either Standard or Athlete mode. They explained that if you regularly exercise, you should select Athlete mode. I teach 16 fitness classes a week. I enjoyed categorizing myself as an athlete.Brightness:The brightness is important to me because I'm a "low vision" user. If I'm going to see anything, it has to be close to the end of my nose. This scale's display is big and bright enough to see if I squat just a bit. But the information is also shared with the app right away. So I can just step on the scale while looking at the app and I see my weight there. (My phone weight's about 3/10ths of a pound). If you just want your weight, you can step on the scale and be done with it. If you want all of the other measurements, you need to stay on the scale for about 20 seconds. The app will show you when it's done. If you wear socks, the scale will just provide your weight. So you'll want to be barefoot to get all of the additional information.Quality:I tried a different company's smart scale about 5yrs ago and it was a disaster. I had to return it. So I ordered this one with a bit of trepidation. But I can tell you that I'm absolutely delighted with the scale and I know I'll enjoy using it for years to come.
