Device works as advertised and has done everything expected!
Worked exactly as expected! Very easy to set up and very portable and worked on all the networks i have tried.Set up NordVPN (very easy) and this VPN runs all the time when connected to any other network. I took this on holiday with me and connected it to the hotel WIFI, then all my devices (no device number restrictions) connected and were protected and ‘in the UK’ due to VPN.I did also purchase a protective case just for protection and to store any extra cables. It is very well built but like to have everything in one place.Has a nice display on front to show what status is and to start and stop the VPN as well.As a router it is very fast, when running the VPN, throughput drops by around 20% (max 150mbs) and WIFI range was very strong.I now carry this when travelling so i dont worry about hotel / public connections. Have not tried on a plane but told it works there !

Great device from GliNet
I've used GliNet devices before, the old Mango was a great little staple for on the road. But this new device really elevates the game with portable travel routers. You get all the decent level grade control as other routers with the portability that travel requires. I bought this one to be a WIFI bridge for a production network at a Hotel, we got 500Mbps each way using this little router so impressive is an understatement. Lovely build quality and the touchscreen on front is a nice bonus with the ability to connect and disconnect VPNs at a touch.

With some knowhow, an essential for any hotel stay...
The Slate 7 is my first travel router but GL.iNet have been on my radar for a while due to their numerous offerings, which have a strong following and high reviews. Being new to them I will say that it's been a bit of a game changer in regards to my hotel travels and from now on has become an essential for future trips. To put it simply, trawl for Google and you'll find numerous guides on how to set it up. Whilst daunting and seemingly 'techy', it's really just follow the steps so don't be too frightened. What you're really gonna want this for is to share 1 hotel wifi input, and output your own private network which your devices will then connect to instead of the hotel's. Why you may ask? This is mainly security (being in control of your own network and being able to run a VPN on all of your network traffic), but it also has the extremely useful case of splitting 1 paid connection to 1 device, to numerous devices at no extra charge. The other use case is enabling devices that struggle with pop up pages with public wifi like Fire Sticks.Once setup correctly, this enables it all, and does so like any WiFi network you've ever used before would. It can be left on the entire time with no issues and has no trouble passing through the internet speed that is input into it. Range is also never a problem - hotel rooms are tiny compared to its capabilities and whilst it has support for 120+ devices, realistically again this is going to be overkill. I also want to highlight how thrilled I am that its main power source is a bog standard USB C - no rubbish proprietary port and additional cables to pack, so in a pinch you can source a replacement cable/plug anywhere.Overall highly recommended to anyone travelling to hotels - as long as you're confident in following guides and troubleshooting initial teething problems

Ideal for caravans and motorhomes.
I have been using the GL-BE3600 in my motorhome for a little over a month now, and honestly, it has been BRILLIANT!Obviously, it's compact and light, so doesn’t take up much space, I've got it velcro-ed in place(!), I think it looks pretty cool! The touchscreen makes setting it up easy and intuitive, I’m not awfully experienced with these type of devices but I have not had a single issue with this.I very much appreciate that this is powered via USB-C PD, obviously convenient for a portable router, but great when fixed in a motorhome also, as it means I can connect straight in to my vans DC system, bypassing the inefficiency of converting from DC to AC, then back to DC..The VPN support is great, I've been using it with Surfshark, and it takes the worry out of using dodgy public Wi-Fi networks. Also, great for delocalising Netflix! If you’re into caravanning or living in a motorhome, this router is an amazing gadget, it's one of the best additions I have made to my van, and I thoroughly recommend it.
