EXTECH Instruments HW30 HeatWatch Humidity and Temperature Stopwatch

Great product to be used for outdoor sports and making sure temps are safe for athletes.

I love this thing! It works great for what I wanted it for. I was curious just HOW hot it is in my route-sales truck. Two days ago I got a reading of 139F heat index. Now I know why I am sweating so bad. :D My co-workers all wanted to know where to get one! I sent them to amazon...The unit itself seems well-made. The buttons react smoothly and the rubber non-slip grips on it are a nice feature. I'd recommend this item to anyone needing to know the heat index in their environment.

When you go out walking or running.if you have to time you're food. It fits around your neck. It's just a very good product very light. You don't have to bring your phone.

Seems extremely slow and inaccurate, I used it at work (indoor food manufacturing) temps reach high levels 120° or more. This thing maxed out and showed dashes ---°. Even when used in a known cooler area it read high, stuck it in front of an A/C vent and read 83° even though it obviously was cooler. Maybe if it hung around your neck outdoors all day and you just glance at it every so often it might be good for something.

I bought this product for recording the weather conditions when I run. The unfortunate thing about this is that the sensors are internal and require almost 20-30 minutes to adjust from your house to new surroundings like the outside. But it is very useful and durable nontheless. I would have loved it more if it had another row of numbers like some other stopwatches. But it works pretty well for the temp/humidity readings if you let it adjust. The heat index seems very off. If it's 35 deg out with 60% humidity, is the heat index really 80-90 deg?

Have owned this a year. Bought it to use on daily runs around a lake and occasionally on a high school track. I use the lap timer, the stop watch function, and the temp and humidity mode. I like the mode that tells your fastest lap on a track. The humidity and temperature take some time to sync to the real world, and both are affected when I wear it around my neck due to body heat and sweating when running (as expected). I have found the time lag with humidity read outs true with two other devices that I have. Humidity is important since I run in the summer in Georgia and Key West and the humidity eventually jives with weather web sites. The unit looks good, is sturdy, and is fairly intuitive. I would buy it again.

This things fantastic, I commission heavy equipment and taking temperature readings is part of my job. Its important to have an accurate record of ambient temp. Also doing time studies is a breeze now that I dont have to keep using my phone... which can be a hassle with gloves on.
